Hi! Reading the research from 2017 (https://www.pewresearch.org/inte...) I found out that smartphone ownership among US older adults had jumped from 18% to 42% since 2013. Assuming it has been growing since I think there are not that many apps that are customized for these people. What do you think about that?

ICYMI: Sam Altman was ousted by the OpenAI board and a lot happened over the weekend. The OpenAI president resigned upon learning the news. There were rumours about a return for Sam amidst investor anger at the board. That fell apart for now as Microsoft announced Sam will lead a new team in Microsoft, and OpenAI announced a third CEO in three days by appointing the former Twitch CEO. What do you think of all this? What do you think the future for OpenAI is now that Sam is gone, for now at least?
I have a genuine question for builders and product managers here about the necessity of native iOS/Android apps for simple utility tools.
Years ago, if you wanted to build a smooth, high-performance tool like a video compressor, photo editor, or drawing board you had no choice but to build a native mobile app. Web apps were simply too slow and lacked access to heavy device processing.
But with WebAssembly (WASM), WebGPU, and modern browser engines, we can compile heavy native libraries and run them directly in the browser at near-native speeds.
