Why being daily active on Product Hunt is a good strategy? [Benefits you may have]
@akash_anil254 asked a few days ago what my strategy is for Product Hunt (I do not want to say I do not have one, but I really do not have one). I enjoy being present here. 😀
Being here already has its own benefits:
Have found a supportive community with an entrepreneurial mindset
I am well-informed about the latest tech trends
Building my personal brand
Akash pointed out one interesting thing – that I am so active that when he asked ChatGPT to show "top Product Hunt users", I was among the ChatGPT results. (I tried it myself, but I have always been shown only male hunters and makers, probably because they hunt more than me) :D
This platform creates awareness even outside of this platform, leading to potential collaboration.
What benefits did you gain from being present daily here?
When you type "Show me Top Product Hunt Users" – which results can you see?
(Mine are Rohan Chaubey, Chris Messina, Ben Lang...)
I was also interested why I was listed in the ChatGPT results and asked what criteria needs to be met. I am attaching the answer in the screenshot.

Showing up regularly gives conversations room to continue. A thoughtful reply today might turn into useful feedback or a collaboration later.
@arthur_winston3 just stay consistent!
I would say discovering hidden gems, apps that are so creative that I wouldn’t even have known they existed if it weren’t for this community and the daily email. Sometimes it feels like everything is AI this, AI that 😂 but every now and then, you find something you genuinely want to try.
I also feel like most people here (myself included) are founders, so we understand the struggle. We know how much feedback, support, and iteration matter, and honestly, that’s something that can be hard to find elsewhere.
I’m still pretty new here myself, so I’m learning as I go and figuring out the best ways to make the most of this community!
@daniela_pilla Totally agree! I’m new here too and loving seeing what everyone’s building. The “AI this, AI that” thing is real though. With a bit of a security background, I get twitchy seeing AI built into everything. You have to make sure it can only see what it actually needs, and can never reach another customer’s data or even another user's data in the same org. If it’s not done right, it’s only a matter of time before someone finds an exploit.
That’s why I built Sortfully with no AI on purpose. Just simple, automatic, predictable sorting. I didn’t like how some other tools in the same space let AI decide what happens to your email. It just wasn’t for me.
To be fair though, AI really earns its place in some areas, especially security. Tools like Darktrace and Varonis Interceptor do a great job of catching threats. It’s just not something I think you need for something as simple as filing emails into folders.
@daniela_pilla yep, we are here very in own bubble. We are so soon into the things and when we go outside with people who are not in the tech, we can see the rest of the world not caring how much AI will change their job in few months. They do not know yet :D
the part that seems to matter most is replying to people a day later, that's where the real chats start. does daily presence actually lead to more feedback on your own posts, or mostly more visibility?
@neerajnathany I actually want to reply to people as fast as possible, so the conversation is ongoing, feeding the thread. But my priority of free time also intervene into the process. I think that the most visibility and authority is earned via hunting/making products.
For me the biggest benefit is the questions. Answering threads here makes me open my own numbers before I type them, and more than once the honest answer was less flattering than the story I had in my head. One thing I learned the hard way: two threads I wrote about my own app in p/general were removed, while a plain question with no product in it stayed up. So being present works better here than announcing, which I think is exactly your point.
@gbasovv People like to demonstrate their opinions, that's the whole point :D
@busmark_w_nika Ha, fair. And the opinions that start the best threads here are the ones with a number attached. Thanks for starting this one!
@gbasovv you're welcome! :D
