What stops most people from turning their app ideas into real, usable apps? Let's discuss.

byβ€’

Over the past year, while building AppWhiz (a no-code platform to help anyone build production-ready mobile apps without coding), we kept encountering the same patterns while speaking with founders, creators, and small business owners.

πŸ‘‰ Tons of people have app ideas β€” for loyalty programs, community apps, digital catalogs, personal projects...
πŸ‘‰ Very few go from idea β†’ working app β†’ App Store / Play Store ready.

Why?
Some reasons we've heard (and felt ourselves!):

  • "I don't know how to code."

  • "Hiring developers is too expensive."

  • "No-code tools are either too limited or don't make production-level apps."

  • "Compliance, privacy, and store guidelines sound overwhelming."

We’re curious:

βœ… If you've ever wanted to make an app (or tried), what was the BIGGEST blocker?
βœ… If you've launched apps before, what’s the hardest part β€” idea, build, launch, or maintenance?

For me I find the main thing stopping me from building and shipping more is time. Working full time and being a dad does not leave a lot of extra time (or mental capacity) for building. Not sure any product can fix that though haha

@jakecrumpΒ  Totally with you on that β€” same boat here.
Balancing work, family, and trying to carve out creative time is really hard.

from my side , i've once formed a group of enthusiasts , as young developpers to start building an app , while learning through challenges they come accross . it was such as an intern for them and well did benefit from the experience .

I did not commit to the project , as it required kinda high expenses for the different tech services such as cloud , API's ... so i had to quit .

nowdays i think it might be easier thanks to AI generators for mobile APPs . all what is needed for a start is an MVP then you will adjust and make it better through feedback and testers .

I can list many reasons.

  • Lack of time

  • Fear of succeeding/or the opposite – messing it up

  • Bureaucracy – law, taxation, accountancy

  • Not having funding or savings (resources), some solutions are cost-demanding

  • Not having the right skills

  • The laziness πŸ˜…

  • Not having a background and support (low self-esteem can hurt your start as well)
