What are the best social media platforms for a SaaS?
by•
Hey everyone :) !
I’m trying to figure out the best ways to gain visibility and drive potential buyers to my website. It feels like certain social platforms are much better suited for this type of business than others.
Aside from content creation (like blogging), what strategies would you recommend to a founder looking to kickstart their traffic and get their first 1,000 visitors?

i believe the best platform depends on the SaaS niche. For me, LinkedIn drives leads, while Twitter helps build personal branding and trust.
@new_user___090202674ab6e030a7a9c52 If I had to choose only one platform for SaaS, I’d probably pick LinkedIn because I can build credibility and generate quality leads consistently.
@new_user___090202674ab6e030a7a9c52 Hi Mukesh! Thanks you for to answer. I'm speaking from the perspective of a predominantly B2C productivity SaaS. I think LinkedIn is perfect for B2B, whereas X is an excellent channel for B2C. What are your thoughts?
I would recommend that if you have a budget, start with meta ads on a facebook and Instagram. if you already know your audience, meta ads can be extremely targeted and can help you get optimum results in less time. You can also try subreddits, which can help with niche based reach.
@yashika_vahi Hey Yashika, thanks for the advice! I do have a budget, but it’s just not enough for my niche since the competition is fierce and the cost-per-click (CPC) is extremely high. At this stage, I’d rather focus on a long-term strategy: driving organic traffic through a blog and consistently creating content on the social media platforms that make the most sense for my business. That said, would you still recommend Instagram and Facebook for a productivity tool SaaS?
@giuseppemessina honestly yes, you would be surprised at the diverse sets of niches and people that Instagram has developed. I would recommend you to focus on one platform for now; Instagram, since it's a much broader platform than Facebook in 2026. Having a long term consistency and focus of quality for one platform can help you get creative ideas, get organic reach fast and also not get burnt out in the process! In the meantime, you can also build a community on reddit but don't reply to each subreddit by a promo, just genuine and authentic responses to their questions or situation. eventually, you can get all these communities to join a discord channel where you can promote your tool and people can talk about the projects they did with it, what sorts of issues they came up with, what worked, what didn't etc.
@yashika_vahi I’m going to explore Instagram for SaaS. I believe the platform is deeply underrated, though the key is delivering strong visual content.
@giuseppemessina definitely! If you're just starting out, it's a good idea to check out some YouTube videos of Gary Vee and content on best hooks for instagram!
I typically recommend Reddit and X as those are commonly used with "all things SaaS". However, it's much more to this because your ideal customer can be anywhere to be honest. I would try to test popular social media platforms to see which forums or communities your customer could be in.
@hennylam_ Hey Hennylam, thanks for the advice! This is really helping me guide my next decisions. My initial game plan was to focus on blog articles combined with 1 to 5 posts a week on X, and maybe get a premium subscription there. As for Reddit, I don't really know the platform well. I just know people use it like a forum to ask questions, but I’ll definitely look into it. Do you know if any entrepreneurs have actually managed to gain traction or blow up on Reddit?
@giuseppemessina I've definitely seen founders get attention from posting on reddit and begin to obtain leads from consistently posting.
@hennylam_ Thank you very much Henny, your advice helps me a lot. I see from the other comments that Reddit remains an interesting channel, and I think I have underestimated this channel.
But is it better to apply through a brand or interact with a personal identity?
And can I create content about my SaaS without getting banned?

Post on whatever you are already using and feel low maintenance to you.
Then experiment and check what you are enjoying.
I try to build a habit documenting what I do instead of creating content.
@bengeekly That makes sense, thanks! Personally, I have an X account but I’m more of a lurker than a creator. I don't interact much, and even less on Facebook or other platforms.
My initial strategy was to create an X account for my SaaS, post 1 to 5 times a day, and write blog posts on top of that. It felt interesting, but it's incredibly time-consuming... What do you think? Do you think this is a good strategy to start with?
I noticed you already have followers on ProductHunt. In your experience, did that community help you drive growth for your business? :)

@giuseppemessina I believe people interact more with people, so don't create for your saas, but start posting with your own.
I don't recommend you doing any strategy now, just start posting and interacting. I remember having a huge barrier to do that. And my initial strategies ended up being to ambitious and time consuming. The trick is really to find something that fit your daily schedule and allow you to post often, without a lot of extra effort.
Can you check my Linkedin content, and give me your honest feedback, if you like it, I tell you how to fo it easily.
I got followers here mainly by interacting and launching some of my previous products here.
I believe it helps with getting people interact more, and maybe help with future launches.
But at my stage I wouldn't say it's something that drive growth
@bengeekly Thanks for the great advice! You're totally right about the human-to-human approach and keeping things simple. I'm going to focus on that for now without overcomplicating my schedule. Wish you all the best ! :)
this one is a little bit more of a pain to deal with, but surprisingly there are still lots of active facebook groups out there dedicated to pretty specific niches. never a guarantee when dealing with facebook group mods, similar to reddit mods, so your mileage may vary
@nickarm941 Hey Nick, thanks for the advice! To be honest, I never really thought about joining those groups. But are people in there actually interested in buying products? I feel like everyone has the same idea, so these groups just end up becoming a circle jerk of entrepreneurs all trying to pitch their own solutions to each other.
