What are the 5 tools you simply couldn't do your work without?

This could be related to your industry, or even a side project you're working on.

Here are my 5 (I couldn't function without them):

  1. Grammarly – proofreading my texts, not just posts, but also client communication

  2. ChatGPT / Claude – mostly brainstorming, help with copy, and summarising

  3. Figma – I can put the basic graphics together quickly.

  4. Translator – sounds incredibly old-school, but English is not my mother tongue

  5. Gmail – and not only for communication, but also for storing ideas and sending myself email reminders for posts

[and soon one more that I am working on – – prevents me from being banned on LinkedIn, so I will not lose my account.]

  4. Gamma - Perfect for quick presentations

  5. Memodrop - Sends me flashcards and quizzes from my study materials on whatsapp

For me, it’s these five:

  1. ChatGPT — brainstorming, research, writing, and coding.

  2. Figma — UI/UX design and product exploration.

  3. Cursor — building and shipping faster.

  4. Supabase — authentication, database, and backend.

  5. Aurali (what we’re building) — because we’re tired of spending days creating onboarding flows and App Store screenshots manually. We’re building the tool we wish already existed.

I think claude is all-in-one plateform now , we can connecct apps to it and it can do work literally in seconds .

love this thread. here’s my 5:

  1. dia browser - my daily driver for browsing + ai baked right in. recaps pages, drafts replies, basically builds whatever i need on the fly. can’t go back to a normal browser tbh

  2. warp - terminal that actually feels modern. blocks, ai, the works

  3. claude cli - of course. lives in my terminal, does the heavy lifting on code

  4. raycast - launcher on steroids. shaves seconds off everything a hundred times a day

  5. findergit - keeps track of all my projects and repos in one place so i’m not hunting around for where stuff lives

funny how the common thread here is less “apps” and more “stuff that works right next to you” 😄

Here are my top 5! The last two are more recent discoveries, and I've been enjoying them a lot:

  1. Claude Code – My AI coding and productivity assistant.

  2. Canva – For design, brainstorming, and creative inspiration.

  3. Discord – We use it for team communication (similar to how many teams use Slack).

  4. Anytype – I love it. It's like Notion, but built with a local-first, decentralized approach. It has generous storage, great collaboration features, and it's free.

  5. Taxfix – Makes tax filing and managing invoices much easier.

Always looking for new tools to try, so I'm excited to check out everyone else's recommendations, specially if someone knows a good one on taking notes on meetings and summarizing that connects with claude or Jira.

Personally I think I could not survive without:

-Figma - design and creativity (also quick fixed on UI after feedback)
-Cursor - for coding and developing + ideas brainstorming
-Brave - for me the best and quickest browser so I can navigate and search info fast
-Github - to save my work and always have it backed up and well documented
-Bitwarden - to save my passwords and have them easily accessed and secured

-Obs studio - when recording videos of our app for marketing content

These are fundamentals but I would have to create a long essay to fill all the critical tools I use!😂

Love this. My 5:

  1. Claude/Codex-shipping, deploying, building anything/everything

  2. SaasDummies.com-testing everything I ship, deploy or build. super fast.

  3. OBS-Demo videos, video recording etc.

  4. NoteTranscriber-Our internal notetaking tool that comes with a browser extension.

  5. Element-we built off the opensource version and made our own chat app that is encrypted.

  • Perplexity Pro / Claude – research, code review, and pressure-testing ideas before I spend money on them. I run a daily validation pipeline through it that kills bad app ideas before they kill my calendar.

  • Loveable – lets me ship real app logic without a full dev team. Currently carrying a mobile app through pre-launch.

  • RevenueCat – subscription infrastructure I refuse to hand-roll. Entitlements are the one place a solo founder can't afford to be clever.

  • Google Workspace – Drive is my persistent memory, Gmail is my ops log. Boring wins.

  • Render – hosting that just holds still while everything else moves.

    Truth is building is what's driving my most needed tools but its always evolving!!!

My 5 right now are ChatGPT/Claude, Linear, Notion, Screen Studio, and a text-expansion/snippet workflow.

The biggest unresolved friction for me is not model quality anymore, it’s context switching. I keep seeing people select text in one app, copy it into ChatGPT, prompt, copy back, then edit again.

Curious if others feel that copy/paste loop is still annoying, or if it has just become normal enough that people don’t notice it anymore.
