The task that I haven’t mastered yet is naming

by

Six products, now in. My accuracy rate for naming is similar to the first one. I'm still spending a whole day on this, still choosing something that won't be in a dictionary because the .com was available.

What I've observed: the good names were those that people could spell just hearing them once from a meetup. The failed names always required me to explain that it was "with two Ls."

This is my only heuristic and not a very good one.

Has anyone developed some process that does better than gut feelings and domain availability? More specifically, does anyone try out their names on strangers before settling on them?
