Founders write copy to protect themselves, not to actually get attention.
"excited to announce" protects your ego. it doesn't get read.

"This is still rough and i'm not sure it's working" gets read, because it's actually true and nobody else is saying it.

Most people default to safe because safe doesn't embarrass them if it flops. but safe also doesn't work. it just fails quietly instead of loudly.

Be honest instead of polished. be specific instead of safe. that's the actual unlock, not a new platform or a better hashtag strategy.

Been guilty of this exact thing. Wrote launch post last year that was basically a wall of hedges and qualifiers because I was scared of looking dumb if it flopped.

haven't launched here yet but kinda relate to the topic. few weeks ago i posted something without dressing it up and got useful replies that changed what i was working on that week
