Is AI making it harder or easier to stand out?
by•
It feels like almost everyone is using ChatGPT, Claude, or some other AI to create content now.
And the result?
– 0 personality
– 0 unique perspective
– 0 risk-taking
Same phrasing, same headlines, same tone. It’s so easy to spot.
Which is why I’d argue it’s actually easier than ever to stand out on social media.
If you:
– Write without AI, or
– Use AI but rewrite, edit, and inject your real voice
…you instantly feel different. Authentic. Human.
So here’s the question:
Do you think AI is making everyone sound the same and is that your chance to stand out? 👇

More difficult in terms of differentiation. If someone doesn't pay attention to standing out and just copies and pastes, they'll be among 100 others who are the same. They need to create something on top.
@busmark_w_nika Exactly. And that’s why I believe that if you have the courage to be different, you can stand out very easily. Because everyone else is the same.

@byalexai Hopefully, I will find my positioning :)

@byalexai The only mystery is Reddit marketing. 🤣

The AI flood has made authentic, human voices more valuable than ever.
I have a page called @ twentisty on Instagram that I scaled to 1.3M followers from scratch. When every piece of content starts with "Are you tired of..." or uses the exact same turn of phrase, it's like everyone's reading from the same script.
I think AI is actually doing us a favor by making vanilla content so obvious. The bar for interesting has shifted now, people are craving something that feels real, has some edge, or takes a stance. If you can write with your own voice or at least heavily edit AI output to sound like you actually think and feel, you immediately cut through the noise.
Most people are too lazy to add personality back into their AI-generated stuff, so anyone who does automatcally feels refreshing.
@sanskarix Wow, congratulations. That’s a huge number of followers.
I agree. That exact laziness gives us the chance to stand out just by being authentic.
i remember a time when i couldn't get myself to write and publish anything because i had this voice telling me my content wasn't professional enough
nowadays, authentic tone are more valuable
all you have to do to stand out is to be yourself and bring what's unique to you on the table
@mayashaddad Exactly. Now you just need to be authentic even if it’s a big nonsense, at least it won’t be AI. And you’ll be different and make an impression.

AI is making it easier for people to build slop software that no one wants. From copywriting, logos, branding, ads, emails, code, everything lacks USP. So much software in the market struggling to find PMF.
@rajat_dangi1 yes you need distribuion
It’s common that whenever we see big technological shifts like AI, People quickly dive into it and start using it for almost every task. But the real opportunity to stand out comes when you combine AI with your own creativity and productivity. Instead of relying on AI to do everything, using it as a tool alongside your human mind can become a powerful advantage in the market.
@moeez_ur_rehman1 Exactly. I use it to dictate my own ideas. And in 2 minutes I can generate text that would normally take me 20 minutes.
@byalexai Yeah that's what I'm talking about.

for sure, if you just copy-paste, it shows. I think the key here is to be yourself. AI will never truly replicate that, because pulling something raw from your consciousness, your childhood dreams, or future plans can’t really be generated and be organic
@enesterenko That’s true. And I think it’s silly to just say “write me a text” instead of giving it your own text and letting it add more data/corrections.
AI can be a helpful tool, but overreliance could make it harder for them to build core writing skills that are essential for communication, creativity, and critical thinking. It raises a dilemma: how do we balance using AI to assist learning without letting it replace the actual skill-building process?
@christyfea That’s true. I notice a lot of people losing abilities because they rely too much on AI.
I go back and forth on this. On one hand, AI definitely flattens out a lot of voices — you can spot the same phrasing of some things at times. But at the same time, if you use AI as a starting point and then layer in your own experience and personality, it almost forces you to be more intentional about standing out.
So maybe the real risk isn’t AI itself, but relying too heavily on it without incorporating your own perspective.
@stellarcarto47 Exactly. If you’re not lazy and just combine your unique knowledge and perspectives with AI, then it’s a good mix. But using only AI is terrible.

I’ve noticed AI makes it very easy to default into the same patterns, the same intros, the same safe tone. What helps me is using AI only at the “raw draft” stage (summarizing notes, breaking down ideas), but always rewriting with my own framing before posting.
That balance keeps the efficiency but also makes sure it still sounds like me.
@priyanka_gosai1 exactly
Use AI as an assistant. Not the executor.
Yeah, AI's making everything sound so generic! Kinda scary how it might bury real voices.
Honestly, I start with AI drafts, but always edit in my voice to cut through.
