I'm preparing for my first launch. How much does timing actually matter?

I'm preparing to launch my first product on Product Hunt next Monday, and I've been going down the rabbit hole of launch strategies lately

Some people say to launch right at 12:01 AM Pacific. Others say the day itself matters less than having a good product, a clear message, and people who genuinely care about what you're building.

As a solo maker, I'm trying to figure out where to focus my energy instead of overthinking every little detail.

For those who've launched before:

  • Does launch day or timing really make a noticeable difference?

  • What would you prioritize in the final few days before launch?

  • What's one thing you wish you'd known before your first launch?

I'd love to hear about your actual experiences, especially from makers who've launched without a big audience.

It is incredibly easy to overthink launch strategies, but in those final days, just focus entirely on keeping your pitch as simple and direct as possible!

What I wish I'd known on our hrefStack launch day: the upvote count is hidden for the first 4 hours and the ranks are hidden too. You can't tell how it's going and there's nothing to react to. Whatever you set up before the day starts counts for more than anything you do inside it.

Who do you have lined up to comment in the first hour?
