Oktoprism - Ship your startup in days, not weeks

The production ready Next.js SaaS starter with everything you need to get your product in front of customers. From idea to production in 10 minutes.

I'm preparing for my first launch. How much does timing actually matter?

I'm preparing to launch my first product on Product Hunt next Monday, and I've been going down the rabbit hole of launch strategies lately

Some people say to launch right at 12:01 AM Pacific. Others say the day itself matters less than having a good product, a clear message, and people who genuinely care about what you're building.

As a solo maker, I'm trying to figure out where to focus my energy instead of overthinking every little detail.

For those who've launched before:

What I learned after letting AI build too much of my apps

I ve been using AI pretty heavily while building my latest project, and one thing surprised me: the code can look completely fine while the architecture is already going in the wrong direction.

The worst example was multi user data. Everything worked perfectly during testing because I was basically the only user. It was only when thinking through multiple users that I realized how easily AI can make assumptions like there s only one current user or forget ownership checks.

Since then, I ve started giving AI more context before asking it to code:

  • who can access the data

  • where the data comes from

  • what must never be changed

  • how errors should be handled

  • what happens when multiple users do the same thing
