How do founders decide what deserves attention today?

by

As a founder, the hardest part is not having too much to do. That is the default.Goldfishing..

The harder part is deciding what deserves attention today.

Some days it is product.

Some days it is users.

Some days it is positioning, feedback, content, research, fundraising, follow-ups, or just fixing the thing that broke.

The problem is that everything can feel important at the same time.

I’m curious how other founders handle this.

Do you use a system to decide what gets attention each day, or is it mostly instinct and urgency?

I usually ask myself one main question: What will make the biggest difference a few weeks from now?

There are always a ton of things to do, but if I can finish just one task that moves the product or business forward in a meaningful way, I call that a good day. Urgent things still happen, of course, but I try not to let them take over every day.
