57% of our users have never seen our homepage.
We assumed the homepage was the front door. Then we looked at first-touch pages across 1.9 million new sessions.
Homepage: 43%
Feature page: 22%
Blog post: 14%
Comparison page: 9%
Docs page: 7%
Integration page: 5%
57% of new users entered somewhere other than the homepage. They arrived on a page about a specific feature, a specific competitor comparison, or a specific integration. The homepage was not the front door. It was one of six doors, and the one most likely to be seen by people who already knew us.
Our homepage had the most design attention and the highest bounce rate. Our integration pages, which had no design attention, had the highest conversion to signup. We rebuilt the integration pages first. Signup from those pages rose 34%.
Which page is actually your front door, and is it the one you are polishing?

We still consider the homepage main page the most important. So I change the main homepage screen frequently. It would be great if our company could reduce some unnecessary work through analyses like this...
