44% of our mobile users have never seen our best feature.
We surveyed 2,300 mobile users about which features they knew existed. Then we compared that to actual usage.
Feature awareness and usage on mobile:
Search: 96% aware, 71% used
Notifications: 91% aware, 64% used
Bulk actions: 12% aware, 3% used
Offline mode: 8% aware, 1% used
Bulk actions and offline mode were two of our three highest-rated features on desktop. On mobile, almost no one knew they existed. They were buried in a hamburger menu under "More," which we had labeled that way because we could not decide what belonged there.
We moved the two features to a visible toolbar on mobile. Awareness rose to 61% and 44% respectively. Usage rose to 22% and 9%. The features were not bad on mobile. They were invisible.
How many of your best features are hidden behind a menu you named out of indecision?

Thehidden features problem is so real A feature can be great but if users never see it it’s almost like it doesn’t exist Visibility can make a huge difference
