The amount of Franz's permanent CPU usage is a no-go for me. I stay with single IM desktop services.

Pros:

Many IM services supported

Cons:

CPU usage too high when selecting 3+ IM services

This is probably going to help me a lot! Wonderful execution Stefan. Just a couple app requests which are probably already in the list - rearrange services in top bar and select default service on login.

I subscribed before reading this comment and assumed that I'd have access to a Beta version of the app for Windows. Please be more specific for next users, state that the Win version is in development and the mailing list is just to be informed when it'll be available. ;)

sorry, will add this info. However, starting the rollout next week.
Definitely going to give it a try, however on first look I can't use Messenger. The text input box for typing is hidden below the border of the window and expanding the window doesn't fix it.

does your tabbar have two rows? There is currently an issue if you have too many services.

I like how HipChat has an option to persist on whichever screen your on. Does Franz have that option?
really nicely executed, especially onboarding was super slick. Would love to see a unified search on top of this, seems like an easy-ish win. (have built something like that before if you wanna reach out)

It's a browser of messengers with each tab being the web interface of the messenger in use. The benefits over just launching each messenger as a tab in your browser are that it allows multiple sessions of the same messenger and centralizes the notifications.
Mac only :/, any plans for Linux? You build it using a Node.js tech, according to what I see, right? It should work somehow out of the box for other platforms, right? I terribly need that, thanks Stefan!

technically it is possible, the catch is with the system integration which is currently not good enough to deliver a product that someone wants to use without being forced to. So atm I cannot say when or if there is a linux version.
