What illustration problems do you face most often?

by

Hi everyone 👋

We’re preparing to launch FlowPik.com — custom illustrations by subscription, with unlimited revisions.

Before launch day, we’d love to learn from founders, marketers, designers, and agencies:

What is the hardest part of getting custom illustrations for your business?

Is it:

— finding the right illustrator?
— keeping the style consistent?
— managing revisions?
— speed and deadlines?
— price predictability?
— licensing and commercial use?
— something else?

Your answers will help us improve FlowPik before the launch.
Thank you so much — we’d be happy to connect and hear your thoughts.

How is FlowPik different from hiring freelancers?

Maks Pawlukewich

@kseniia_dizdar
Hi, Kseniia!
Thanks so much for the question 🙌😊

With FlowPik, you don’t depend on just one freelancer. You get a managed team: an account manager, art director, illustrators, graphic designers, and UI/UX designers.

This makes delivery much more reliable. If one person is unavailable, on vacation, or sick, the process doesn’t stop -- the work is supported by a larger team, so you keep getting illustrations consistently.

@makspawlukewich can you explain more please how you will build relationships with a client. Who client will communicate with? With manager, not with illustrator? And with one client will work curtain illustrator? Or different?

Maks Pawlukewich

@kseniia_dizdar

Thanks for the great question! ❤️

The client usually communicates with an account manager. If needed, an art director can also join the meeting to discuss style, references, and creative direction.

Communication can be by text, voice, or video -- whatever is easier.

For one project, we may assign one or more illustrators, depending on the type and volume of tasks. A designer or other creative team members may also be involved when the project requires it.

So the client doesn’t need to manage the creative team directly -- we handle that inside FlowPik.

Uff, I thought about the problems we faced when ordering illustrations.

It’s tough. You need to describe the concept and hope the illustrator will catch the idea and make a great picture.

But it takes time to ping-pong sketches and wishes. So for us, ordering illustrations is a bit challenging, because you can only hope for a great result and make several iterations of fixes to get there.

So it’s time-consuming.

What about FlowPik? Is it really possible to get a great illustration in 48 hours?

Maks Pawlukewich

@new_user_1912022ba9aeff700

Thanks for the question, Aleksandr -- this is exactly the challenge we want FlowPik to solve.

Yes, 48 hours can be possible for simple and well-defined requests, but the key is the brief.

FlowPik is built to reduce that “sketch ping-pong.” Our account manager and art director review your project, help clarify the brief, style, references, and goals, so the illustrator can start with a much clearer direction.

For a new client, we usually need 1-2 days to process the request, understand the brand, and prepare the workflow. After that, simple illustrations can often be delivered much faster -- and revisions are included, so we keep refining the result until it fits.

48 hours is possible for simple requests, but first we focus on setting the right direction to avoid wasted iterations.

Does that make sense, and did I answer your question clearly?

Aleksandr Redko

@makspawlukewich

I’ve never worked with an art director before — only saw one in Mad Men )

So if you have a “Don Draper” in-house, it really makes sense!

Maks Pawlukewich

@redko_pro Haha, yes -- we do have our own Don Draper, just with fewer cigarettes and more Figma 😄

Aleksandr Redko

@makspawlukewich it sounds like a perfect match 🤩

Can I use these works in commercial projects?

Maks Pawlukewich

@new_user___1542026feaf73babe2113ef

Thanks for the question — yes, you can use FlowPik illustrations in commercial projects.

We also provide clear license terms, so teams understand where and how they can use the illustrations. If your project has a specific use case, we’re happy to clarify the license before you start.

Hi!
Can you match a brand’s visual style?

Maks Pawlukewich

Hi Yuliia!

Thanks for the great question!

Yes, we can create both illustrations and a visual style for your brand in many cases.

It depends on the style, complexity, and references you can share. We work with many different styles and directions, and our goal is always to deliver high-quality work.

If we feel that a specific style is something we can’t match or develop at a 10/10 level yet, we’ll tell you honestly upfront.

Happy to discuss your brand style and see what’s possible.

Yuliia Shapovalova

@makspawlukewich Thank you for your reply.

That's great, because it's very important for a brand to stay within a certain style and color palette. I really like that approach.

Hey! How do you keep the illustration style consistent?

Maks Pawlukewich

@alexey_bernaz
Hey, Alexey!

Great question.
The secret is our team and process. Our illustrators and art directors have worked together for years, so we already have a shared visual language and workflow.

We also train the team constantly, review work internally, and use art direction to keep the style consistent.

So the short answer is: team + process + art direction.

Alexey Bernaz

@makspawlukewich Thanks for the answer!
