@chrismessina Personally I think https://www.deckset.com is the future of pitch decks. Markdown is just so much more accessible than any WYSIWYG editor. But time will tell.

I'm always curious about how far AI can go in simplifying people's lives. I'm not used to using anything in my work, because the field of reference-design is more of a creative component, but I'm interested in what new tools are emerging to speed up work. I looked at the functionality of the Figma and wow, such an extensive library of templates for design. Figma Slides look really cool, although I feel like a complete noob while I'm getting the hang of it. Hmm, think collection of pre-designed slides would significantly greatly help in the work process..

I'm forever a Figma-fan:))) This is the launch I've been waiting for!!! I've been using Figma to create slides since last year and this expansion is so powerful. I can already see how it speeds up my workflow and can be beneficial for organizing my designs for crits and presentations. Can't wait to try🥹
OMG, I've always thought Figma should have a slides feature, and my dream has finally come true! The slide software I used before was super difficult to work with, and I often had to design in Figma and export png for beautiful designs. Now I can finally create slides directly in Figma! Congrats on the launch, I’ll be trying it out right away!
Btw, I’m curious if Figma Slides can be exported to a common slide file format. There are occasions where I still need to send files. (I couldn’t seem to find an export option in the app)

How many slide templates does it have? Are they elaborated? These two aspects will determine whether I choose to use any PPT producing AI.

We launched Figma Slides yesterday at Config after a year’s long effort to reimagine presentations and visual storytelling. Figma was never meant to be a tool for creating decks, yet we saw Figma users make 3.5 million presentations in the last year alone. Our users saw promise in our platform- we took that and ran with it.
What started as a scrappy project in an internal hackathon is now a powerful tool that marries the visual fidelity of Figma with the interactive feedback mechanisms of FigJam. Built for both professional designers and their collaborators in product, marketing, research, and beyond, Figma Slides enables anyone to craft a powerful story.
Some of the features we are most excited for are live prototypes (embed your live designs directly in your file), the AI text tone dial (go concise-casual, or expanded-professional), grid view (refine your structure and slides with a bird’s eye view) and native interactivity (align your stakeholders using polls and alignment scales). PS - yes, there are speaker notes.

Could I also make social media templates with this?
I've experienced the frustration of sharing templates that stakeholders aren't able to tackle when they disturb the original layout.
So far, I've been using Canva and I am considering an option that's friendlier to follow.
