The hard part wasn't e-signing, it was making contracts hold up in Indian courts

Signing a document digitally is the easy 80%. The actual hard problem: Indian electronic records need to satisfy Section 65B of the Evidence Act to be usable in court at all, most e-sign tools skip this completely and just produce a nice-looking PDF that's legally about as strong as a screenshot.

Happy to go deep on how we approached this if anyone's curious, verified identity, tamper-proof timestamping, and keeping the whole thing under 2 minutes to actually use.

We got tired of freelancers getting ghosted on payment, so we're building the fix

Quick context on why Defellix exists: we kept hearing the same story from Indian freelancers, work delivered, client goes quiet, and their only "proof" is a WhatsApp chat that means nothing in an Indian court.

So we're building contracts that are actually legally admissible from the moment they're signed, timestamped, tamper-proof, no blockchain knowledge required to use it.

Curious if this resonates with other builders here, has a client ever gone dark on you after you shipped work?

Building court-ready contracts for freelancers, what would make you trust a new tool here?

Genuinely asking, not pitching: if you've ever used (or avoided) a contract tool as a freelancer or small team, what made you trust it, or not? What would it take for a brand-new tool to earn that trust from you?

AMA: 3 founders building legal, blockchain-backed contracts for India's freelancers

We're Saiyam, Ronak, and Janvi, building Defellix. Ask us anything, product, legal side (Section 65B), the blockchain-anchoring, why we built this, whatever you're curious about. We'll be around all day.

Defellix - Never lose a payment to a ghosting client again

Defellix helps freelancers in India create contracts that actually hold up if a client stops paying. No WhatsApp promises. Contracts are timestamped, blockchain-anchored, and court-admissible under Section 65B, created in about 2 minutes, client signs with just an OTP. Also included: auto-generated demand notices, milestone tracking, and MSME guidance for faster recovery. Early-stage team, building in the open. Would love your feedback.
