Organize your todos by day of the week and watch your progress unfold naturally. Unlike traditional task apps that tie you to rigid deadlines, DayDrift lets you assign tasks to days of the week instead of specific dates. Miss Monday's task? It naturally flows to Tuesday, keeping you moving forward without the stress of overdue items.

How does DayDrift differ from other todo apps?

DayDrift focuses specifically on weekly planning with a unique day-by-day accordion interface that lets you organize tasks by weekdays. Unlike traditional todo apps, it includes a streak tracking system that motivates you to build consistent daily habits. The app emphasizes simplicity and focus, helping you plan your week without getting overwhelmed by complex features.

Key Features:

  • Weekly Planning - Assign tasks to specific days and see your week at a glance

  • Flexible Scheduling - Choose between 5-day or 7-day week views

  • Drift Tracking - Visuals that shows how many times a task has been carried to the next day

  • Clean Interface - Distraction-free design that adapts to your preferred theme

  • History & Sync - Keep track of completed tasks and sync across all your devices (Unlimited)

Perfect for:

  • Daily task management

  • Weekly planning and organization

  • Building productive habits

  • Keeping track of recurring responsibilities

Really dig the approach! Any plans for widgets?
ickas

@buzzusborne for sure, my idea is to implement next the widgets and notifications. Probably after that, I will start with the macOS app.

No 996 mode? This will never work 🤪... No... Love the name and the execution here! well done!

ickas

@sentry_co no 996 mode here, just gentle focus and getting things done at your own pace! Glad you liked the name, it was one of my biggest doubts when I started the project 😅

I was literally just saying I want a simple to-do app like this, and something used to exist about nine years ago. But I haven't been able to find it. Thank you for making this! Already upgraded.

ickas

@melissamonte thanks, Melissa. And yes, I think the simplicity is the best feature of the app. Feedback is more than welcome!

Melissa Monte

@ickas I think I found a bug. Yesterday I had added some tasks for Saturday, which is today and when I opened it this morning those tasks had been bumped till Sunday. It would also be really lovely to have dragon drop tasks between days. I can’t figure out how to edit the day without deleting a task and rewriting it for another day.

ickas

@melissamonte is not a bug, it is a feature. All the uncompleted tasks will drift to the next day. Regarding the other things, the next update, one of the things that will bring is the possibility to edit a task and drag-and-drop it to another day.

Melissa Monte

@ickas I understand I completed tasks drift to the next day but that’s not what happened. I scheduled things for other days. And they all drifted to the following day. If today is Monday and I schedule something for tomorrow Tuesday, there’s no reason I should wake up tomorrow and have all of my Tuesday tasks drifted to Wednesday. That is not helpful to me.

Daniel Mauno Pettersson

Very nice! Can you share an account with more people? I would love to be able to share family tasks with my girlfriend

ickas

@daniel_mauno_pettersson not yet, but it is on the roadmap. How do you see that happening? Sharing single tasks or a group of tasks?

Daniel Mauno Pettersson

@ickas Groups of tasks, like the long list of house "renovation" and fixes.
- Add trim to the guest bedroom
- Hang the photos in the living room

ickas

@daniel_mauno_pettersson make it totally sense, and my wife has already asked for the ability to share a "family groceries" list 😅

Germán Merlo

Amazing man! Really congrats

ickas

@german_merlo1 thanks, Germán 👊

Abhishek Kumar

Hey! Was trying out the app. It's clean and simple but how do i edit the task?
I am able to delete it but can't edit it.

ickas

@whereflightteam editing tasks isn't available yet, but it will be one of the features in the next version, along with notifications.

ickas

@whereflightteam I already have a beta version with a couple of new features, one of them is the availability to edit items. Are you interested in testing it?

Perfect for freelancers juggling multiple projects without strict deadlines.

ickas

@abod_rehman from freelancers to everyday folks who just want a bit more order in their week 😎

Miguel Casteleiro

very cool idea mate

ickas

@miguel_casteleiro thanks, Miguel 👊

Roozbeh Firoozmand

Love the simplicity here. Letting tasks “drift” across your week instead of racking up overdue items seems way healthier for stress. Clean UI, streaks, and privacy-first syncing are smart touches.. looking forward to seeing how it evolves!

ickas

@rouzbehfirouz thanks, Roozbeh. Next will be widgets and notifications! 🙌
