We finished #1 Product of the Day - thank you! 🎉

by•

Yesterday (September 28th), we launched MCP Connectors by Databox, and you pushed it all the way to #1 Product of the Day. It's our first #1, and we couldn't have done it without you.

Huge thanks to the Databox team and to everyone here who upvoted, commented, asked the hard questions, and connected their first tool. You helped us confirm something we'd suspected for a while: knowing that a number moved isn't enough. People want to know why.

A few things we heard loud and clear:

  • The reason behind a number almost never lives in the dashboard. It's in a HubSpot deal, a Slack thread, a Linear ticket, or a support conversation.

  • People got excited about more than getting answers. They want Genie to act on what it finds, like pausing an ad campaign that's burning budget.

  • Some of the best questions were about trust: how Genie shows where an answer came from, and which tool you'd let it touch first.

We're reading every comment, and it's already shaping what we build next.

Already connected a tool? Tell us which one you connected first, and what Genie found that you didn't expect.

how you're thinking about that boundary, is there a review step before Genie can act or does it depend entirely on which tool you connect first?

Good question, Jared. It doesn't depend on which tool you connect first. The boundary is set per tool, not per connector order. For every action Genie, our AI Analyst, can take, you choose whether it runs on its own, waits for your approval, or is blocked. So you can connect your CRM and let it look things up freely, but still require a review step before it updates a deal or sends anything out.

We designed it this way on purpose. The riskier the action, the easier it should be to keep a person in the loop.

Huge congrats on #1 Product of the Day well deserved and great launch by the team at Databox
