Welcome to ClubsAll! 1. Announcement: TL;DR: In short, it is a reddit clone, at least we are starting with that but there is a lot more planned. We have a long list of innovative features we will continue to add one by one. We're excited to share our brand new social platform where you can share your interests, create new communities, and connect with people of the same interests. Say hello to ClubsAll — your next favorite community hub! Think of it as your go-to destination for dynamic conversations, diverse interests and make new friends. 2. Why: When companies start "monetization" of their platforms, they starts to push unpopular changes to the detriment of their own community. This happened to a lot of companies and social platforms. We thought we could create a platform where we will not need to "do evil" in the very long term. We innovated on business, technology and features to build a better community for users that will not need to do evil to survive for decades to come. 3. Innovations: Here are a few things we have done or plan to do (not a comprehensive list) 3.1 Business Innovation: This platform has not and will not raise any funding. This means we are not answerable to any VCs, so we will never need to go IPO, increase profits 10-20% every year and "do evil" for profits. We did a lot of innovation to lower costs. By our calcualations, we can make it a financially self sustaining community with awards, tip jars etc. but without any intrusive features that hurt the community. 3.2 Technology Innovation We simplified the tech architecture significantly so we can develop faster and lower our operational costs. This in-turn will help us become self sustaining without having to raise funding. 3.3 Feature Innovations: 3.3.1 Multiple clubs per post: Each post can be tagged to multiple clubs, so there is no need to duplicate posts. Added benefit is that there will be a single comments section, no matter which club a user sees the post in. This will make it less duplicated content and more enriching conversations. 3.3.2 Multiple user IDs per login: A lot of users keep multiple ids for each social platform for various reasons. Instead of having to constantly logout and login, we are building unlimited IDs within a single login. Now you can switch with a single click." 4 Features: In creating this platform, we wanted to ensure a sense of familiarity in design and preserve the features you know and love. ClubsAll is a young platform and we're committed to continuously enhancing your experience by introducing more features and content. Stay tuned for regular updates as we evolve and grow! 4.1 Your Feed: The Home feed consists of posts from your joined clubs, sorted by popularity, or if you are logged out, from featured clubs across the site. The New feed or c/All has all of the newest posts on the site. The Discover feed becomes available once you log in and lets you discover new communities you may not have seen yet before. Infinite scrolling Light and Dark themes User summary and activity pages (e.g., upvoted, downvoted, saved) Robust media viewer for images and posts Expanded, compact, and list-style views based on your preference 4.2 User Profiles Allow multiple profiles under one account with easy switching between profiles We all have different and complex interests that we want to explore, but it can be difficult or even dangerous to express it under one profile. This is why we wanted to make it easier for users to switch between profiles. User Summary and Activity pages These allow you to review and oversee your posts and comments, as well as your upvoted, downvoted, and bookmarked items. 4.3 Clubs Clubs are our implementation of subreddits or communities. Add user restrictions to your club -- public, private, or restricted Allow tagging of club as NSFW/18+ Moderator Tools Club Details Add or edit club rules, club description, header image and other club details User Management Block certain users from joining or accessing your clubs Add other club members to join your moderation group 4.4 Posts Posting to multiple clubs to reach a wider audience (currently limited to 3) Upvoting, downvoting, and bookmarking of posts Create link, image/video, and text-type posts Posts with multiple images are coming soon! Images and videos have a limit of 10MB Links will be converted to card-type previews Rich text posts Add spoiler tags, links, bold text, code and other types of text to your posts Tag your post as NSFW/18+ Comments Nested comments will be available on this site Rich text comments with spoiler tags, links, etc. Upvoting, downvoting, and bookmarking of comments are available Collapse comment threads that you have already read 5. Planned Features 5.1 Mobile Apps This is a no-brainer. We have already made sure ClubsAll is responsive (that means it can be used on a smaller screen such as smartphone). However we will also be releasing iOS and Android apps. 5.2 Clubs More robust moderation tools especially with Content Management. If you have experience as a moderator, consider sending us feedback to make this better and more robust.
