ClipStack - Free, open-source clipboard history for your Mac

by•
ClipStack is a native macOS clipboard manager built with SwiftUI and AppKit. Press ⇧⌘V to open a floating panel over any app, search everything you've copied and paste with ↩. Filter by text, links, images or files, pin favourites, paste as plain text, and see which app each item came from. History stays on your Mac with no account and no tracking, with optional iCloud sync. Password-manager copies are never saved. Free and open source.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Chiranjeeb, a full-stack developer who spends the whole day copying snippets, links, IDs and screenshots between apps. macOS still only remembers the last thing you copied, and the clipboard managers I tried were either heavy, subscription-based, or I wasn't comfortable with where my data went. So I built ClipStack: a small, native Mac app (SwiftUI + AppKit) that keeps everything you copy and brings it back with one shortcut. What it does: • ⇧⌘V opens a quick panel over whatever app you're in, without stealing focus • Search as you type, filter by Text, Links, Images, Files or Pinned • ↩ pastes, ⌥↩ pastes as plain text, ⌘1–9 pastes the top nine items • Pin items you reuse (they never expire) and edit text items in place • Shows which app each item came from, with rich previews for code, links, images and colors Privacy first: history stays on your Mac. No account, no analytics. Items password managers mark as concealed are never saved, you can exclude apps, and iCloud sync is optional and uses your own private iCloud database. It's free and open source (MIT), signed and notarized, and updates itself. Install via the DMG or `brew install --cask chiranjeebhub/tap/clipstack`. The Mac App Store version is in review. I'd love your feedback: what would make this your daily clipboard manager?
