🔥 Gloves are off between ChatGPT and Chrome
@OpenAI just launched ChatGPT Atlas, its own browser for macOS that bakes the model right into every tab. You can highlight text to summarize or rewrite it, chat alongside any site, and keep the AI open in a split view while you browse.
It even remembers what you’ve been doing over time, though that’s already raising privacy flags.
What’s interesting is that Atlas doesn’t feel like a new product it just feels like ChatGPT trying to absorb the browser itself.
You’re not going to ChatGPT anymore; it’s just there, everywhere you read or click. This was predicted for some time, it started with ChatGPT being able to browse itself, then we saw the likes of @Perplexity launch Comet and Anthropic just dropped Claude Code in the web.
So now that ChatGPT is literally following you around the web… are you into that, or is this where it starts to feel a little too close and do you think OpenAI can put a dent in Chrome's dominance?

Of all days to Launch Shuttle!! The gloves are off between them and we're over here swinging punches from the car park!
Oh yes, I am now waiting for what Google will come up with..

I feel like it’s changing the way I look for information, and it actually feels really natural and more efficient. At least for now. So, I think it could even surpass Chrome.

If Atlas lives up to the hype, it could actually change how we browse. Chrome isn’t invincible anymore. We've seen Comet's rise. Curious to see if people trade familiarity for pure convenience.
