@aaronoleary Hi Aaron! The original idea was a button that would support the issue at the bottom of an article that got you riled up. 16 months later of iteration, here we are. Inspiration came from the political voltage that is unavoidable in our country right now. Methods of political engagement (marching, calling congressmen, petitions, social media) seem impotent, and aren't making people feel like they can make a difference. ChangeRoots is intended to capture that voltage to align incentives with what the people want and combat big money influences by simplifying fundraising. Plus it's actually fun. I'm the UX guy with no real political background, and I've been loving it.

Would like to see a few more posts per day but know there is a tough balance between too many and too few

Pros:

Easy to stay tuned in to politics and contribute at a manageable level

I am loving getting emails from ChangeRoots, especially during this election. I have started to notice positions I have in common with representatives and candidates across parties. Definitely has the potential to increase awareness and empathy in the political layperson (AKA, me)!

Heard that @shanna_helf! We love that that's what you're seeing. We envision a post-partisan democracy built on win-win solutions. We make an effort to make the feed accessible to political newbies (AKA you and me), but still interesting people who keep politics part of their routine. That way, one day we can chop it up with the best of 'em.
