I’m a Program Manager by day and, after a long hiatus from hands-on coding, I decided to dive back into the "builder" experience to solve a problem that was driving me crazy: The Spreadsheet Trap. My entire financial future was hidden in a 15-tab Excel sheet. It was slow, fragile, and I spent more time fixing broken formulas than actually planning. I wanted a dedicated engine that could show me—with precision—when I could actually stop working (what I call my "Freedom Age"). I built Cabova to be that engine. Most finance apps are ledgers—they show you where your money went. Cabova is a simulator—it shows you where your money is going. Why I built it this way: 🔒 Privacy-First: I didn't want my bank data in the cloud. Cabova has zero bank links. Your data stays locally on your phone. 📈 The Freedom Engine: It doesn't just track bills; it simulates pensions, mortgages, and investments over 30+ years. 🔀 "What If" Logic: Want to see the impact of a 1% interest rate change or an extra €100/mo contribution on your retirement date? It’s one tap away. While I initially built this for the Irish market (handling our specific tax and pension system), I’ve added manual inputs so anyone globally can use the engine to model their future.
