Butter for Mobile - Buttery-smooth collaborative sessions - now on the go

Hey Product Hunt! I’m Jakob, co-founder and CEO of Butter. We’re like Zoom but laser focused on collaborative meetings - giving you one delightful platform to plan and host your collaborative sessions (Brainstorms, trainings, workshops, sprints!). We’re excited to be back and show everyone here in the Product Hunt community what we’ve been up to. 😊 Massive thanks to @chrismessina for hunting us again! We first launched the browser version of Butter (https://www.producthunt.com/post...) here a year ago and the response was incredible — earning us Product of the Day and nominations for three Golden Kitty awards. Since then, we’ve launched our desktop app, introduced premium plans, released tons of new features and integrations, and a whole lot more! Today, we’re proud to launch something that a lot of our users have been asking for: a mobile app for Android (http://btr.to/PlayStore) and iOS (http://btr.to/AppStore) so participants can now stay engaged even on the go! 💫 ⏮ A quick lookback on how Butter started We started hosting our own online workshops when the pandemic hit, and we could never recreate the same energy from inspiring in-person workshops. The tools we had weren’t meant for true collaboration or for creating real connections. (And after two years of the pandemic, we can all attest to that now!) Since then, we’ve spoken to hundreds of people who host and facilitate collaborative sessions who have echoed that pain. They all face two big problems: 1. They have to juggle a ton of tools to host an engaging workshop: video conferencing, polls, chat apps, collaboration boards, notes, music, tons of links and browser tabs — even physical timers. 2. It’s really tough to get people energized with the existing tools out there. With Butter, we’re enabling facilitators to put their energy into doing what they do best: running high-energy collaborative sessions that participants love. We do that by allowing them to plan, run, and debrief their sessions all in one place. 😍 Why Butter for Mobile now We’ve always designed Butter for collaborative use cases. So we prioritized building Butter for desktop where people can contribute and create outputs better. But our users told us that they want to be able to use Butter for ALL their meetings — including more routine stand-ups, townhalls, 1-on-1s, and more casual discussions. We listened. And as of today, participants can now join any session on mobile, which makes it easier to hold your everyday meetings in Butter too (or for that person on the go to pop into the brainstorm). You’ll never have to worry that people can’t join on the go! We’ve worked directly with our core users to build their most-demanded features into the mobile app: - A time-boxed agenda to keep things on track - Fun emoji reactions, soundboards, and GIFs in the chat to pump up the energy! - A hand-raise queue to minimize the awkwardness of talking over each other - Easy polls to engage your audience - Super-customizable breakouts with the ability to hop in and out of groups - Ability to see screensharing, timers, and more 🔮 What’s next Beyond making the new mobile app even better, we’re working on personal tool libraries, templates, team accounts, more video grid options, and more!
