Hi, Product Hunt community, 👋 Today, I'm excited to announce the launch of Briefy, an AI-powered tool turning lengthy texts, audios, and videos into structured, easy-to-digest summaries, made with love by our team. 😃 As an entrepreneur who strives to seek inspiration, I often juggle multiple tasks and need to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, research, and insights through newsletters, blog posts, videos, podcasts... But let's face it: who has the time to digest hours of content these days? Do you have the same feeling about information overload? 😰 That's why we created Briefy. It's not just a tool; it's our solution to reclaim time while staying informed and inspired. With Briefy, you can turn lengthy texts, audios, and videos into structured, easy-to-digest summaries, saving you hours of precious time. Let AI read and brief for you before you can dive deep into the pieces you are really interested in. -- Spend time on things that are worth it. 🤖️🚀 We aim to make Briefy your assistant in consuming information. -- It does not just summarize but also knows the best way to help you digest fast. Based on the type of content, Briefy automatically finds the best format for you to quickly understand long content, including bullet points, keywords, tables, mindmaps, charts, etc. (WIP for some formats.). 🧑‍⚕️📊 One more thing! Soon, we will also be supporting iOS mobile devices with a Safari extension. This will bring you a seamless experience across devices. 📱 SPECIAL for the PH community: we're offering a 50% discount if you sign up and upgrade to the Premium plan today. Do let us know if you have any feedback/suggestions as we look forward to connecting with our users! ❤️ Happy Briefying! Cox Zhang, founder of Briefy

@cox Cool tool! How do you differentiate from the existing set of tools like GPT 4 and their wrappers?
Cox Zhang
@anjanay_saxena Very good question. Here are some: 1. Briefy is more focused on normal non-technical users like my parents, who don't - and don't need to - understand technical things like API key, OpenAI account, prompt settings, etc. Just download - sign in with Google - 1 click to summarize. 2. We provide a better user experience and higher summary quality based on the scenarios. In a future version, we will support more than just summarizing into text, but also tables, charts, mindmaps, etc., based on the type of content. 3. We also bring the experience onto mobile phones by building a Safari extension.

@cox Looks interesting. I'm currently using a prompt for this. I'd like to see how this compares. I noticed your 50% code. Looks like a one-month only, right? Have you consider an annual offer?
Cox Zhang
@ramonwilliamson currently we only have a monthly plan. Will consider to introduce annual plan soon!

cool to see ppl in the comments using the extension! Based on the landing page, is it converting any comment into bullet points with emojis? Or are there other formats?
Cox Zhang
@esus it summarizes long content into several formats, including bullet points with emojis. The further formats such as tables, sectioned summaries, and charts are still under development.
Esus 🛡️
@cox Very cool, I already dig the emoji's as bullet points. Really excellent way to compress more info without using more space. Feeling ⚡️🚀 about this launch
Cox Zhang
@esus Haha! Thanks!

Congratulations on the launch today! I am curious how this differentiates from GPT-4 and some carefully curated prompts / a decent workflow? Very neat either way!
Cox Zhang
@dzaitzow we're more than just a GPT wrapper. Here are some points: 1.

@cox amazing! and just out of curiosity what does your target market look like? Is it geared towards less technically inclined users?
Cox Zhang
@dzaitzow yes, we're more like targeting at normal non-technical users who don't know much about LLMs, ChatGPT, etc.
Alex Chepovoi
Interesting idea for those who don't have a lot of time for reading long texts!

Congrats on the launch. Briefty is awesome! It's really boosted my reading efficiency, especially when I have to go through loads of content to solve an issue. Plus, I love the design style of the landing page.
Cox Zhang
@bonvisions Thanks Bon!

Wow, Briefy sounds like a handy tool! I can see how it can save a lot of time when dealing with lengthy content. I'm curious: does Briefy only provide text summaries, or does it also offer audio and video summaries? Also, have you considered integrating Briefy with popular content creation tools like Google Docs or Microsoft Word? It would be fantastic to have the ability to summarize my own written content directly within these platforms. Overall, I'm impressed with Briefy, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for this AI-powered content summarizer! Keep up the great work!
Cox Zhang
@alex_kachalov Text for now, audio and video will come later. I think integration with docs is a good idea. Thanks for suggestion!

Just wanted to share my experience with Briefy on Chrome. It's definitely worth trying out! The summarization is smart and clear, presented in the form of bullet points, and it loads quickly. As someone who needs to go through news every day for work, I can attest that Briefy has significantly improved my productivity. It used to take me a lot of time to find the valuable points in a news article, but now with Briefy, I can easily get to the important information. Keep up the great work, Briefy team! I'm looking forward to being able to use it on my phone.🚀🚀
