Hey PH’ers! My name is Nathan Lands. I'm the Co-founder and CEO of Binded. We just launched yesterday. Excited to be sharing with you all what we've built and to get your feedback! We started Binded because no one has built modern tools to make copyright useful on the web. As the job landscape changes with the rise of automation, it will be even more important that people can earn a living from their creativity. Binded is a technology platform making copyright simple. Digital photographers and artists use it to protect their work, for free. How Binded Works: 1. Upload images to your private copyright vault from your computer, phone or integrations like Instagram. 2. For every image in your copyright vault, we create a unique fingerprint saved permanently to the bitcoin blockchain. 3. We give you a copyright certificate as proof which can help protect you against copyright infringement. 4. Using our fraud detection technology we look for potential copyright infringements on the web and show you on your dashboard. Here's some recent press about us: * https://techcrunch.com/2017/05/2... * https://petapixel.com/2017/05/27... * https://rightstech.com/2017/05/b... Hope you'll try out Binded and let us know what you think! We have big ambitions for the future of copyright, we're just getting started. :) P.S. Binded was formerly known as Blockai. @nathan_lands I'm an active user of blockai, love the product. Congrats on the revamp and the launch of Binded. You guys are making copyright simple for everyone, also love the work you guys are doing using the blockchain :) Kudos to you and the team.

@findabhilash @nathan_lands Hey Abhilash! Thanks so much for your support! We've been working super hard to improve the product. Even though we still have a ways to go, we're deeply excited about this new direction and our future plans. Keep on rocking!
Jit Salunke
@nathan_lands Great product Nathan! Any plans to issue certificates to other properties beside images? I am assuming that would be much more complex?
Nathan Lands
@jitsalunke hey Jit, thank you! We have lots of plans. :)
Brian Curliss
@nathan_lands any public roadmap and any plans for API access? :)
marymin
Watermarking proprietary images is a good idea, and Binded makes it really simple. The method they chose is really secure as well.
Carey Janecka
@marymin Thanks for the kind words!

Free love for all, not chains and copyright. Sorry, but your product only helps the man & someone's pocket.
Carey Janecka
@androidlove Hey Carlos. Binded actually helps the small guy fight the man. We give freelance photographers and creatives the tools protect their copyright claims. So now they are able to take action when big publications are making a profit from their work. We are determined to help the common man protect their work. That's why we made it free! I hope you'll give the site a try and maybe change your mind. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to shoot us an email at info@binded.com

Great product! Hope it continues to grow and clears up what is a very muddled area of the web!
Nathan Lands
@tom_downs95 thanks Tom! We're just getting started. :)
Pablo
Any chance to be able to whitelist urls (my own) and be able to see all other urls using any of the images in my vault?
Carey Janecka
@cataplines Hey Pablo, that's definitely on our road map. In the coming weeks we plan to make lots of improvements to Monitoring. I'd be interested to hear more of your ideas and feedback though, send me an email at info@binded.com or tweet me @figitaki so we can talk more.

Looks like a very useful tool and I will be digging in further soon. One thing - in your T & Cs (yes, I am that kind of person that actually reads T & Cs) - a couple of spelling mistakes. 2.3. Copyright Claims ... upload has a permanet record ... The actual image its self is not..." Also, what's the financial model here? Someone has to pay eventually. Right, back to signing up ;)
Nathan Lands
@pointandstare We are really focused on our long term mission over profits. We want to become the standard for copyright and make creativity the world's most valuable asset. Improving the lives of creators everywhere. We're working towards that goal by democratizing copyright, which means it's free and everyone can use it. We want to become the best way for creators to manage and monitor their copyrights. The default option for copyright. In the future we will begin to help creators monetize their copyrights. When we create that type of value there will be many ways for us to generate revenue. Fear not. :)

@nathan_lands That's all very well, but, ultimately there has to be cash transactions. Don't get me wrong, i'm agreeing with you, but, reality has a nasty way of biting your arse especially when you have to fork out for servers, designs, food etc.

One wonders if crypto might eventually fill the gap left by file-sharing.... blockchain-encoded time-stamps at creation seems super useful as a starting point, and perhaps eventually as a tool for enforcement... hmmm...
Carey Janecka
@reubenmetcalfe When we made Binded, blockchain was the obvious choice for creating records of copyright claims. Blockchain technology gives us the tools to make records that can't be changed and are publicly visible. By using blockchains, we can also build features like transferring records, and even licensing agreements with smart contracts. Overall, the "crypto" landscape is still relatively new and constantly changing, but we're excited to be a part of the space as it matures.
Scott Dodson
haven't used this yet, but plan to. Great way to solve a major, widespread problem!
Nathan Lands
@gamebiz thanks Scott! :)
John Schenk
Why didn't I think of that?! Nice job, guys.
Nathan Lands
@johnschenk thanks John!
Sam Cholera
Agree @johnschenk, surely is one of them.
