Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Dragoș — a Senior Full Stack Engineer with 10+ years building enterprise-level software in multiple industries like retail, research, insurance and banking. That last one is why we're here today.
During my time in banking, I saw the same pain point everywhere: accountants and finance teams wasting 30+ hours every month manually typing transactions from PDF bank statements into spreadsheets. That's what led me to build BankStatement2CSV.
Why it matters: banks give you PDFs; accounting software needs structured data. That gap wastes time, introduces errors, and ties up people who should be doing higher-value work.
What BankStatement2CSV does:
📄 Process any bank statement PDF — including scanned documents and images.
🔒 Auto-redact sensitive PII before any AI processing, so account numbers and personal details never reach extraction models.
🎯 Extract transactions with up to 99.8% accuracy in our tests.
💾 Export clean CSV/Excel that plugs into QuickBooks, Xero, Google Sheets
⚡ All done in seconds — ready for reconciliation and reporting.
What makes us different: security-first design. We automatically remove PII before extraction so you get accurate data without exposing sensitive details to downstream models. That’s not an add-on — it’s the foundation.
We’re still early, but the feedback so far is consistent: teams try it once and stop going back to manual entry.

I’d love your feedback — questions, feature requests or your worst bank-statement horror story. I read every reply and will use them to shape the next updates. 🙏
How does the redaction actually work on tricky scanned statements where the account number runs across multiple lines or is half-cut off? Want to make sure nothing slips through before I try it on a real client file.
The auto-redaction step before extraction is a smart move, especially for anyone hesitant about pasting financial docs into AI tools. Tested it on a scanned PDF and the CSV came out cleanly formatted, no manual cleanup needed.
The redaction before AI extraction is a really thoughtful touch, gave me peace of mind uploading statements with sensitive info. Extraction was clean and the CSV dropped straight into Google Sheets without any cleanup.
