AuralFret - Describe a vibe. Get the chords and scales. One workspace

by
An interactive fretboard workspace for guitar and bass. Create boards, pick a scale, see it mapped across the neck, and add chord widgets to build your session. The AI search lets you find chords by mood — type "sad jazz" or "dark and heavy" instead of searching by name. Supports alternate tunings, multiple instruments, and audio playback. Free to try.

Hey everyone — I'm the solo maker behind AuralFret. I built this because every guitar tool I found was either a single-purpose site (just chords, just scales, just a tuner) or looked like it hadn't been updated since 2005. I wanted one workspace where everything connects. Where it gets interesting is the workboard. Most guitar tools treat scales and chords as separate things — one site for scales, another for chords, no connection between them. In AuralFret, they live on the same board. You pick a scale, see it across the neck, and add chord widgets right below it — so you can see how everything fits together in one place. It also has an AI search where you describe a vibe ("dark and heavy", "dreamy bossa nova") and it finds matching chords instead of making you search by name. I spent about a year building this, and honestly the hardest part wasn't the code — it was getting past the "it's not ready yet" loop. Shipping is its own skill. I'd love to hear: - Did the workboard make sense on first use, or did you feel lost? - If you tried the AI search — did the results actually match the vibe you described? - What would make you open it again tomorrow? Thanks for checking it out.
