πŸŽ‰ Introducing Credit-Based Billing: Give Your Customers Real-Time Control

byβ€’

Hey Product Hunt community!

We just shipped something I'm genuinely excited about – Credit-Based Billing is now live on Atlas! πŸš€

Here's the problem we kept hearing: customers want to know exactly where they stand with their usage. Not at the end of the month. Not when they get a surprise bill. Right now.

So we built credit-based billing to solve that. ✨

What makes it special?

Think of it like a prepaid phone plan, but for literally anything you're selling – API calls, AI tokens, storage, transactions, you name it.

Here's how it works:

You give customers a credit balance at the start of each billing period

Every time they use a feature, their balance updates instantly

They always know where they stand (no surprises!)

You decide what happens when credits run low – block usage, send alerts, or let them top up

Why we're pumped about this πŸ’™

As someone who talks to builders every day, I see how much trust matters in pricing. When customers can see their usage in real-time, they feel in control. And when customers feel in control? They stick around longer.

Plus, it's dead simple to set up. We're all about that plug-and-play life 😊

Would love to hear from you: Do you use credit-based models today? What's been tricky about implementing them? Or if you're thinking about usage-based pricing, what's holding you back?

@abod_rehmanΒ i agree. i think hybrid helps find a good middle ground where they pay for what they use, but businesses can make money.

When your costs scale with usage. Your revenue should too.

Usage-based billing is a great model for AI native companies.
