Cool. iMessage team needs to add some of these features tbh

Looks intriguing so just got my wife to download it, after doing that myself. Let's see how it goes. Good luck and kudos for the effort.

@johnnychengx looks great, but I cant find it in the Italian App Store, any reason for a limited release?

@gady90 @johnnychengx Thanks for letting us know! It seems the stores are still updating for us in some regions but you should be able to get it direct here: iOS - https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1... Android - https://play.google.com/store/ap...

Have tried to verify my number three times and it keeps failing. Will try again later.

@hickmanzackary Thanks for downloading the app and letting us know about this! We experienced some issues with signup initially, but those should be fixed now! If you have this issue again, feel free to send us a quick email at support@amity.io

loved the product videos. that got me pretty pumped up to try out the app—great job! i installed the app, but i couldn't really do much. i'm hoping some of my friends join, but it's hard to get people to change their habits (in my age group). i'm curious to hear what kind of strategy you're going to use for activating networks of people.

I really like the fact that you could send your exact location. I always wondered why that wasn't an option with other messaging apps. Good Luck!!

The force is strong in the messaging world. Filters, emoji, groups, locations, moments seem well made but how will this help to distinguish this one and create the momentum necessary to rise above competitors? Signal, Threema, Wire and co are making inroads by championing user rights, privacy concerns and encryption. EyeEm and Soma have managed to launch a set of tools that match competitors but still seem to be playing catch up. Looking forwards to seeing how Amity will forge its edge.

How did you come up with the name? I'm in my early 20s. I don't think the name sticks very well. Amity sounds like Anonymity. So, I would assume this would like a private encrypted chat like Telegram.

@tyrantboy yeh i think the name sucks too
Danny Lowney
@bigyahu @tyrantboy it doesn't matter what the word means. It's about what people think the word means :)
alan jones
@dannylowney @tyrantboy kinda does matter a little bit. But yeah, you wouldn't want to call it "Pajero" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mi...

Great looking product. Tough space for sure but always some room for innovation. Love the "more live" features like actionable emojis. Getting critical mass to switch is going to be the challenge and searching for some niche groups / specific markets to start might be effective.
