I love this product. Instead of having to buy multiple sensors and arduino inputs, I pay 50 bucks and I've got a massive advantage.

I guess considering most shields cost ~$30; $50 is reasonable, as a hardware and software combo. will be interesting to see how well it sells

They oversubscribed 8X on their kickstarter. / I think it's already selling well.
