008 - Event-driven AI powered Open Source Softphone

Hello Product Hunt, I'm David, here with Pio, Javier, Luis, and the rest of the 008 team. We're thrilled and slightly nervous to present 008 v1.0. This has been a year in the making hearing real customers problems and use cases while developing a usable softphone that would fulfill their needs. So, why 008? The majority of the team has a long record in the telecommunications industry, mostly providing SIP solutions for great companies in Europe and Latam. This space, despite of being one of the most consumed by enterprises the whole ecosystem moves a bit slower in innovation reusing the same great pieces of software again and again. Some of them are a bit aged conceptually and technologically. Obviously one of those advances has been the breakthrough in AI with great models for TTS or language processors. The majority of the small/medium companies, that are also our principal consumers, have been using third party services that are adding costs that makes their project simply not worth. Not only that, in Europe, the companies need to be specially careful with the privacy laws that makes using those services simply impossible. We designed our softphone to provide those advances: ASR, summarisation, business intelligence... While solving the privacy issue in one shot! 💥 008 generates all types of events that are delivered straight to your own Webhooks or favourite services. 008 tells you when a call is starting, answered, terminated, if an user has changed the status... But not only that 008 transcribes, summarises (among other things) the call and delivers it as an event also to you.
