Your users are too nice
gm legends, happy Friday.
Vercel Day is coming Tuesday, someone built a phone that enforces your bedtime, and the most encouraging thing your early users said might be the most expensive feedback you've received.
Vercel Day is coming

We're partnering with Vercel to bring Vercel Day to the leaderboard on Tuesday, June 16th. Launch that day, add the tag "vercel-day" to your launch, and your startup gets a shot at a direct pitch to Vercel Ventures plus over $30k in Vercel credits.
Start building now, schedule for June 16th, and tag it vercel-day. That's the whole entry.
Social media has a bedtime now

HyperSleep locks your social apps automatically at bedtime and uses multi-sensor detection to verify you actually slept before unlocking them. Roddy built it after noticing the obvious flaw in every other screen-time app: you have to turn it on at the exact moment you're most likely to ignore it.
🔥 Our Take: Every app in this category tells you how much you're scrolling and hopes you feel bad enough to stop. HyperSleep just removes the option. It activates itself, which is the only thing that makes it different from a setting you'd disable at 1am. Whether that's empowering or oppressive probably depends on how your last few nights went.
Grow your app with Setapp: revenue, users, & AI

You shipped the app. Now comes the part nobody warns you about.
Billing across dozens of countries. Licensing agreements. Tax compliance. Customer support for users you haven't met yet. And if your app does anything with AI, add provider management and infrastructure costs to the pile. None of that is why you started building — but all of it is now your problem.
Setapp is trying to take it off your plate.
You probably know Setapp as the subscription marketplace — one monthly price, hundreds of Mac apps. On May 21st, they turned toward developers. The pitch is simple: list your app, reach users who are already looking, and let Setapp handle the business layer.
Skip the boring parts

Clutch Alarm monitors live matches and sends a full-screen alert — loud enough to get past silent mode — when a goal is scored or a game becomes a one-goal finish. For European fans watching World Cup matches that kick off at 3am, the pitch is obvious.
🔥 Our Take: The World Cup started yesterday. The group stage runs through the next few weeks, and a lot of the interesting matches are on at hours that make sense in one timezone and not in another. Clutch Alarm is the right product at the right moment. Originally built for the NBA, it covers football now too.
Polite feedback will sink you

Farrukh Butt (@farrukh_butt1) posted a pointed claim in the general forum: "I'd definitely try it" is the most expensive phrase in early-stage startups. Not because it's hostile — because it costs the person saying it nothing.
The thread converged quickly on behavioral signals as the only honest data: pre-orders, workarounds, cold traffic conversions, unprompted follow-up. Nipun Taneja put it plainly: "behavior can't lie to spare your feelings." Words can.
"The polite 'I'd definitely use this' is the most expensive feedback there is." That line stopped the thread for a moment. Then everyone said yes.
