Happy Friday! I hope your week has been everything you hoped it would be. In today’s digest, I’m covering a new launch from Beehiiv that will make consuming newsletters easier. But first…
The headlines:Â
🧵 Meta’s Threads has officially passed 200 million active users.
💻 Intel is laying off 15,000 staff and will stop ‘non-essential work.’
🤖 Microsoft now lists OpenAI as a competitor in AI and search.
Turn newsletters into podcasts with this feature from Beehiiv
How many newsletters do you subscribe to? How many of them do you actually read? If you’re anything like me, you’re probably familiar with the Gmail storage warning, and there’s a good chance that at least 50% of it is due to unopened newsletters.Â
People are busy, and reading newsletters isn’t always practical. You could be focused on work, commuting, and spending time with family. That’s why Beehiiv, the newsletter platform founded by early Morning Brew employees, has launched Audio Newsletters.Â
For writers: Once you’ve finished your piece, you can navigate to the email settings tab and enable audio transcription with the press of a button. From there, you can pick from twelve different human-like voices to narrate your newsletter.Â
For readers: When you receive a newsletter, you’ll notice a new audio player sitting at the top of the email. All you have to do is click play and start listening to the newsletter. You can focus on whatever other tasks you have while digesting that newsletter you promised yourself you would read.Â
Alongside audio newsletters, Beehiiv also announced some other features designed to improve the newsletter experience for writers, such as click maps, which are a visual representation of what your readers are clicking on so you can see what’s working and what’s not.Â
Grow your app with Setapp: revenue, users, & AI

You shipped the app. Now comes the part nobody warns you about.
Billing across dozens of countries. Licensing agreements. Tax compliance. Customer support for users you haven't met yet. And if your app does anything with AI, add provider management and infrastructure costs to the pile. None of that is why you started building — but all of it is now your problem.
Setapp is trying to take it off your plate.
You probably know Setapp as the subscription marketplace — one monthly price, hundreds of Mac apps. On May 21st, they turned toward developers. The pitch is simple: list your app, reach users who are already looking, and let Setapp handle the business layer.
