What's your favorite note-taking app?

2020 laid the foundation. And 2021 has seen an explosion of note-taking apps from the ubiquitous Notion to the back-linked Roam Research. From the old companion, Apple Notes to the fresh-looking, Craft. And how has this changed your behavior? Have you modified your approach to fit new apps, or tweak the apps to fit your workflow? Do you write more since you've started using one of these apps?

I still use Evernote - but it seems to have gone out of fashion somewhat! As most of our potential customers are in Discord we're also using that quite a bit now....

Switched from Evernote to Notion completely in 2020. And how has this changed your behavior? >> I genuinely feel more inspired with any project ideas I work on now since Notion allows for much more visual and creative note-taking. Plus I moved all my personal notes, budget and habit trackers etc. to a Notion account as well, and even have collab pages with my husband for our daily routines (never used Evernote for personal purposes at all). Have you modified your approach to fit new apps, or tweak the apps to fit your workflow? >> A bit of both I guess. 70% modified approach, 20% apps tweaked to match new workflow, 10% some apps dropped altogether due to overlapping functions. Do you write more since you've started using one of these apps? >> Yes, Evernote functionality is so limited compared to Notion that I have a newfound passion for writing literally everything my brain comes up with. Like going from Microsoft Paint to Adobe Photoshop :)

@tejas_gawande I used Evernote, Apple notes, Onenote. Recently I shifted to Notion and am loving it. The experience that Notion creates is what brings me to the tool not just for note-taking but for the itch to open and use it at least once a day 😄
