Messaging is always the thing that trips us up before a launch. even when you are about to go live you are still 50/50 on whether it will land. Then deadline hits, it ends up being gut, you take it live and spray and pray. how do you guys actually validate it and get some confidence? happy to learn whatever works for you.
Articos MCP launched yesterday and ended the day at #1. 327 upvotes and a wall of thoughtful comments. For a bootstrapped team, that caught us off guard, especially in a field this strong. We launched the same day as some great teams, @opencode , @Fina @Kai, and the folks behind them, @thdxr, @clay_raterman, @jim_hartung. Good day for all of us
Big thanks to @chrismessina for hunting us again. The pre-launch calls shaped the whole thing, the story, the flow, the maker comment. Chris pushed us to lead with the actual value instead of just it s an MCP now, and that reframe is a big reason yesterday worked.
I ll go first: most of my calls, headlines, positioning, which angle to run, start as gut. Then I take them to ChatGPT or Claude to pressure-test before anything goes live.
At some point I realized that s where all my work actually happens now. I am in the agent all day. So leaving it to go test something somewhere else felt backwards.
