Ah this is solid! Thanks. I’m Mirabelle and I’m a motion designer and comms strategist. I’ve built and managed online and offline communities from 0-100k users, and built launch videos for startups. I’m in the business of discovering what users care about the most. I use that to make comms/marketing strategies, plans and motion designs to get them to care, trust or see themselves more in a...

I once did a social media bootcamp at miami ad school, online, almost like social media marketing. Shelled out a lot of money for it. And till date? It's one of the most disappointing courses I ever spent my money on. I regret spending on that. The marketing of the course was so good but they 95% under delivered for me. Should have known that algorithms change and I could have learned much more...

Just downloaded. I like the dark theme and motion designs in this and vibe. Currently at work but will give this a full spin once I'm off. So far, I'm loving it. The psychological thrill of learning more about myself is neat!

For new founders, brand-wise I would suggest starting with these 3 thoughts: Branding is great but please don't stay stuck here. Have a simple logo and clear enough website so people can easily find you and also your product can look 'professional'. Use it to build launch day momentum if you like. BUT DON'T go spending so much money and time here at the start, people rebrand all the time as...

You can make documenting in public a 2 way street. When you track, it's easy to see your growth. Because not also documenting or tracking what's going on as you build/post in public, may make you feel nothing is working and no one is watching. I assure you someone's watching. And you're right, don't measure stuff by immediate engagement. I wrote an article on medium about 2 years ago about...

I think it's cool to build and launch wrapper-like stuff only if people are building with the mindset of enjoying the process, and hoping to earn a little cash and understanding that what they're doing isn't solving climate change and hunger etc. Also many people are afraid of #fomo. So to solve real world problems? That takes time. Deep research. Going down to where it's happening or staying...

I guess... not really, I was one of those kids. Volunteered and worked for a lot of people's organisations and projects from age 14/15 or so. Founded my first venture at 17. Scaled it from 0-200 contributing writers and 100k web viewers. Won awards including the Global Teen Leader award and traveled across multiple countries to speak at events with government ministers, African Union, business...

I'm both. Can't plan too much and won't freestyle beyond a certain threshold. I like the wiggle room and structure and I'm balanced.
Are you a planner or do you go with the flow?

Building stuff and selling stuff are two different ball games. Whether you choose to work for someone else or build and do your own thing, learn how to sell stuff. This includes knowing how to talk about your skills, communicating ideas so people can key into your vision.

Sleep and power naps: I catch a good night's sleep. When I work for 30-45 minutes I take breaks that include naps inbetween. Refreshes my brain. Using the MSCW (must to, should do, could do, wish/or won't do) principle to sort my task and to do list on Notion. When I catch myself being much slower and being distracted, I know that I won't get any more productive so I just go off and do...
