What's in your dock?
I was recently reminded of @Dockhunt and how fun it was to see what kinds of apps different folks kept in their dock. I remember it being a cool way to discover some new products I hadn't seen before. I'm also just a big fan of desktop apps over web apps. I find it a lot easier to stay focused when I'm flipping between apps vs flipping between tabs.
These are the apps in my dock:
@Google Chrome - Pretty basic. I've really been considering switching over to @Horse though.
@Slack - The de facto option.
@Superhuman - Maybe the fastest I've become a fan of a product. I think I was pushing it on others within a few hours.
@Notion - Great for documentation and collaborating. I also use it personally for tracking books I read and video games I play, along with tracking personal projects.
Notion Calendar - The menu bar aspect of this is really what sold me. It makes it so much easier to stay on top of my meetings every day.
@Linear - We just recently switched over to Linear here at @Product Hunt and I've been loving it. Pro tip: if you prefer the desktop app, there's a setting to open links in the app, but you can only set that option through the web version.
@iTerm2 - I've tried others, but this is my favorite. This + @Neovim is just
@Claude by Anthropic - This has been my LLM of choice for a while, and I really like having it as a desktop app. Especially the keyboard shortcut to quickly bring it up and ask something.
@Tandem - Super easy to stay in touch and sync with teammates. Incredibly useful for a remote team.
@Spotify - I typically have a YouTube video on in the background, but if I'm writing or doing something more focused, I'll typically have some kind of Jazz going.
Can anyone recommend an AI audio survey tool?
I'm looking for tools to help me brief clients and get their answers in voice format. Recently, I found @Yapz It really impressed me. Simple to use, the delightful format of briefing people, only a positive experience. The only downside is that I cannot see the whole call transcript, which is crucial for me. Are there any free/cheap AI alternatives that makes summaries of answers and saves transcripts at the same time?
Design challenges impacting SaaS growth: What are some of the things you're facing?
Hey fellow PH folks,
After 25+ years in design and selling my own design system; Cabana for a six-figure exit (maybe more next time ;), I've noticed consistent patterns in how specific design issues directly impact key SaaS metrics.
I'm curious: What design-related challenges are currently impacting your product's growth? For example:
User activation below expectations
Feature discovery problems
Conversion bottlenecks
Retention issues tied to product experience
Have you tried the new setup?
With the Producthunt launch, we also updated the starter content for new users.
A lot of the tags in the setup are using new Tana features in cool ways: #brainstorm lets you capture ideas and questions from voice on mobile, #daily prep lets you plan your day on the go, #article is built to go from voice->Tana publish in no time.
What will be your moat considering in a few years, everyone can be a builder and creator?
The last few months have blown me away not for the announcements but for the actual use tools like Cursor, Windsurf and the even recent ones like Bolt or Lovable.
As someone who has no knowledge of coding, I have been up during nights materialising the product in my head into an web/app that I can run on my device - all through conversational english. With such pace and removal of barriers, what do you think the next phase of software development would be and what will be the differentiator that defines your(could be your product) success?
How Do You Handle Updates for AI-Generated Website Content?
I m exploring how websites that rely on AI-generated content manage updates when underlying information changes or new information needs to be added. For example: if an AI writes an article about "Best Practices for SEO in 2023," how do you efficiently update it to "2024" incorporating new additions in a coherent way without regenerating the entire piece?
Regenerating the whole article would be inefficient as it could erase formatting, disrupt internal links. Also it probably wouldn't send the right signal to search engines where whole article changes for every update.
What will be the role of humans in society when AI and human-like robots take over more jobs?
In yesterday's discussion by @aaronoleary, there were a few thoughts about using robots at home.
In this context, several questions occurred to me.
For example, what will happen to the future of humans if we delegate most of the manual and mental work to machines? How will we handle our free time? How will people be rewarded?
What's your favorite criminally-underrated AI coding tool?
I recently installed @Augment Code based on an ad somewhere, and I'm super impressed, but haven't heard a peep about it in most channels. But it got me wondering what else I'm missing. This is a crowded field with a few frontrunners and a lot of more esoteric newcomers, but I want to know about the ones that blow your mind but hardly get any coverage.

Beginner tips for Raycast?
When @Raycast launched their recent notes feature, I downloaded it for the first time. I'd heard a ton of great things, but just hadn't ever tried it out before. Their notes feature was something I'd been looking for so it seemed like a good jumping on point.
So far, I feel like I'm vastly underutilizing it though. I kind of found the sheer amount of things you can do with it overwhelming, and I've mostly found myself just not using it. I love keyboard driven apps and shortcuts (I'll forever be a diehard @Neovim fan) so it seems like something I'd love and get a lot of use out of. I just haven't found a great set of shortcuts or uses yet.
Would you let a robot in your home or not? 🤖
ICYMI: 1x launched the NEO Gamma, a new generation of humanoid robots that are designed to help out with things at the home like doing the laundry, cleaning, putting up photos, etc. This is the kind of stuff I used to dream about as a kid but now as an adult I'm not sure if I want a robot walking around my house. Would you let one in and what do you think about home robots? Think they have a future or is it going to be a hype train before fizzling out?
Will Reddit be a leading platform for discussions in the future?
Unlike other social media platforms, I perceive a lower level of "centralization of power" on Reddit (such as in the comparison of X Musk, IG, FB Zuckerberg, which are starting to become politically tinged).
I'm starting to see this place as a more reliable and balanced source of information, where discussions can be held at a high level, perhaps also due to sometimes stricter moderation.
Stricter Discussions (Forums) on the Product Hunt – Bad or Good?
A few days ago I saw some posts here about:
the number of discussions is decreasing,
sometimes they are approved later,
that there is "other community growth" I don't know what was meant by that and I'm just guessing.

Best, quick features to set up?
Hi! I m Ben, and I manage community support here at Product Hunt. We recently signed a new contract with @Intercom that has loads of new features, almost to the point that it s overwhelming
We had tried Fin in the past before the recent update (Fin 2.0?), and I ve been working on updating our help articles to make Fin work better whenever I have time. While Fin is a priority, I m also curious:
What features have others first implemented that were most impactful to your work? It could be data-wise or a reduction in volume! Anything making your team s work easier, with ~ideally~ minimal effort
What s been the best way for you to get everything set up? Navigating the Intercom Community, working with their team directly, reviewing help articles yourself, or something else?
Thanks in advance for any advice!!
The differences between prompt context, RAG, and fine-tuning and why we chose prompting
When integrating internal knowledge into AI applications, three main approaches stand out:
1. Prompt Context Load all relevant information into the context window and leverage prompt caching.
2. Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Use text embeddings to fetch only the most relevant information for each query.
3. Fine-Tuning Train a foundation model to better align with specific needs.
Each approach has its own strengths and trade-offs:
Does Proxy have an API?
I can't find a reference to Proxy having an API. Any plans to launch this? Having an API and allowing for structured outputs would put you in front of ChatGPT and open up so many use cases.
Would you trust AI agents / assistants with autonomous tasks, or would you keep a close watch?
With AI agents and assistants are becoming more advanced, we're seeing them handle everything from scheduling meetings to managing entire workflows.
But here s the big question would you fully trust an AI to run tasks autonomously, or would you prefer keeping an eye on things just in case?
🛠 Has anyone built a production app with bolt.new?
I ve been playing around with it, and it s wild how fast it spins up a full-stack app from a prompt. But I m wondering:
How well does it generate code for real-world use?
Any prompting tips to get better results?
How does it compare to others like Lovable?
Also, do you think tools like Bolt (full app generation) are the future, or will the Cursor-style coding assistant approach win out?
Would love to hear from anyone who's pushed this beyond a test project!
