Your data is completely private and is only used to power your Upstream experience, like drafting in your voice, classifying your inbox, and answering your questions in chat. It is never used to train shared AI models.
This looks really promising! Does it work across multiple Gmail accounts?

@thomas_df Not yet natively. The current workaround is to open your codebase in Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, let it gather the relevant repo context, and then have it use Upstream via MCP to draft the reply.

@louislecat today I have a Codex automation that drafts me Gmail answers for Sales & Support messages using the codebase as context, this is really useful!

Love the fact that you can bring in your custom agent. How does that work?

@_felx Thanks! Your agents can have their own accounts in Upstream and participate directly in the workspace. They can read threads you’ve given them access to (for example through channels or by tagging them on a conversation), take actions, and leave private comments so you can see what they’re doing and interact with them directly.
They connect through MCP (Settings → MCP), which lets them use Upstream while keeping access to all the context and tools they already have (eg your docs, CRM, codebase, support system, etc.)
What kind of agent are you thinking of connecting, and what use case do you have in mind?
That does look great ! Is this something you are considering expending beyond emails ? (I know Slack is really the thing that's killing my productivity today...)

@chraynaud Thanks so much! Agents can pull context from the other services you use like Calendar, Drive, Notion, and Granola. This context improves auto drafts and you can also use it when chatting with our AI.
