Claude desktop scheduled tasks (previously routines) leave a session behind every run, and the app deletes them one at a time. Routine Cleanup is an open-source Claude Code skill that clears them in bulk. It keeps the newest N, never touches a run you replied in, and shows the plan first.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Nick. This is a small one, and my first launch here.
I run a lot of scheduled tasks in the Claude desktop app (they used to be called routines). Every run leaves a session behind, and one bug-fix task had piled up 618 of them. The app deletes them one at a time, so I built a Claude Code skill that clears them in bulk.
What it does:
• Keeps the newest N runs you choose
• Never touches a run you replied in. It reads each transcript and only counts what a person actually typed
• Shows the full plan, with sizes and dates, before anything is deleted
• Deletes through the desktop app itself, so the Runs list stays in sync
Deletion is permanent, which is why the plan always comes first, and the app still asks for one approval per 25 runs. That limit is the app's, not the skill's.
It's free and open source (MIT), and it isn't made by or affiliated with Anthropic. I'd love to hear how you deal with old scheduled task runs today, and what would make this more useful.
If you run Claude Code scheduled tasks, how are you dealing with the sessions they leave behind? I'd like to know what Routine Cleanup should keep by default.
