Right now Routine Cleanup keeps the newest N runs you choose, every run you replied in, and any run whose transcript is gone. Everything else is shown in a plan before anything is deleted.
A few things I'm weighing for the next version:
- Keep by age instead of by count ("keep the last 14 days")
Every run of a Claude Code scheduled tasks (previously routines) in the desktop app leaves a session behind. Mine had piled up to 618 on one task before I noticed, which is why I built this. (Note I have auto delete of sessions set to never as I previously lost some important information from sessions)
How many do you have open? Do you go through and delete them manually after the run?
Claude desktop scheduled tasks (previously routines) leave a session behind every run, and the app deletes them one at a time. Routine Cleanup is an open-source Claude Code skill that clears them in bulk. It keeps the newest N, never touches a run you replied in, and shows the plan first.
