πŸ’‘ Bright idea
Congratulations team Guard.dm on your Producthunt launch! This sounds like an absolutely fantastic solution to the ceaseless DM spam downfall. One suggestion - it might be interesting to include an option where users can donate the charges from spammers to a charity of their choice. This could become another deterrent for spammers and also provide a philanthropic aspect. Great work!

What an interesting product for battling spams! Few questions here if you don't mind @kura955 1. How does Guard.dm charge scammers on a high level? 2. What's the success rate of the charging them? 3. How does credits works?

@weichunnn Hi @weichunnn, great questions! 1. Basically, the idea is to demotivate scammers or any spammy busyness from sending not relevant information/proposals. First of all, if they want to send a message, they must top up certain amount of credits. The credits will be held until the receiver marks the message as "not spam". If marked as "spam" the credits are donated to a charity. This is to make sure no mass email campaigns are created with not so relevant proposals. The senders will have to learn and message only those who are really interested in their product. 2. The idea is not to charge as much as possible, but to remove incentive to spam. The spammers will not be willing to mass spam if they need to pay for such behaviour. 3. Credits are just a way to avoid chargebacks and make it possible to punish spammers :) Those who want to send messages, they will have to purchase some amount of credits. People who never spam will not be ever charged and they will be able to "refund" the credits they purchased if they want to do so.
