FretMap is free to all and provides an interactive fretboard to visualise 11,000+ guitar patterns. There's also a structured Learning section: https://fretmap.app/learning to introduce new players to the guitar. For people who move between devices, i.e. mobile phone, tablet, desktop, TV, there is an *optional* paid subscription which provides access to syncing favourite preferences, patterns and learning progress to the cloud. To be clear, the *subscription is optional* and non-subscribers can view the same content, they just wouldn't be able to sync their personal saved data between devices.

As a guitar player, love to see products being made in this realm. Kudos for making this in your free time. Looks amazing - congrats on the launch @ghosthorses !

Congrats Stephen! FretMap seems like a really neat tool, and it's awesome that you're offering it for free with a paid option. Curious, what kind of database access does the subscription include? Cheers!
Stephen Fairbanks
@isabellarosewilson hi Isabella, thanks for the comment. Currently the subscription will allow users to save their preferences, favourite patterns, song and their learning progress. In the future I'm hoping to add new features like song creation which can also be saved and shared.

Congrats Stephen, this tool seems promising, but why another browser-based option when so many apps are out there, what makes it stand out, maybe consider adding offline capabilities or integrating with DAWs, curious what kind of database the subscription gives access to, cheers
Stephen Fairbanks
@eventizceo Thanks for the comment, the reason for it being a web app, rather than a native app or desktop app is convenience - both for development and users. Native apps are mostly tied to hardware / OS and are usually more complicated to build and provide updates for. As for DAW integration, that's an interesting idea! But essentially FretMap should be considered more of a reference for learning guitar patterns.

Found this tool through an ad, it's really useful for learning new patterns and mastering the fretboard, kudos to you, Stephen, it's impressive that you offer it for free as well, have you thought about adding some video lessons or maybe a community forum for users to share tips and tricks

FretMap sounds like a fantastic tool for guitarists! The interactive fretboard with over 11,000 patterns is impressive. Love that it's browser-based—makes it super accessible across devices. Kudos to you, @ghosthorses, for your dedication. Excited to try it out and I hope it gains some serious traction!

Great concept but 11,000+ patterns feels like overkill, might become more confusing than helpful, if you're a beginner you might get overwhelmed real quick, needs a simpler version maybe, just my two cents
Stephen Fairbanks
@codecraftpro thanks for your two cents. Can I ask if you visited the site?
