Flowly is a NIH-backed platform that teaches you to move from Pain State to Flow State: -Virtual Reality worlds designed to relax you -Biofeedback training for taking control of your nervous system -Data analytics to track progress Free Kit w/ membership.
Hey y’all,
I’m Celine, the founder of Flowly. I grew up around pancreatic cancer patients who experience extreme pain. Many people close to me would pass away from morphine overdose and not even the cancer itself.
We really started this company because I felt passionate about delivering accessible, safe, and effective pain management. Especially amid an Opioid Crisis.
While we have a strong pain management focus, in case studies and clinical trials, we’ve seen how powerful Flowly can also be for managing anxiety, sleep, and helping increase focus.
We are:
Science-backed — we’re backed by the NIH, National Institute of Drug Abuse, have conducted case studies and clinical trials at UPMC and USC.
Led by world class medical experts — our Chief Principal Investigator is the Chair of Perioperative Medicine at UPMC and our Director of Research is at USC.
Designed by top artists — we come from developing film, animation, and art at DreamWorks, California Institute of the Arts, and our team's work has even been selected to showcase at Cannes Film Festival.
I would love to hear your feedback and experience with Flowly because this is a mission my cofounders and I care deeply about.
Even though we come from engineering and design backgrounds at DreamWorks, Hyperloop One, Yale, etc., we actually spent the entire first year of our company administering Flowly in clinics ourselves with doctors and nurses.
We’ve had everyone from pain patients to Olympians use Flowly to help with their pain, focus, anxiety, and sleep.
Learning to take back control of your nervous system is so critical for most of us.
This past year I personally struggled with my own health and I know Flowly was critical in helping me manage how I felt each day.

Happy to see you live! A few questions:
1) When we'll get Android app?
2) What if I have Oculus?
3) Can you tell more about the worlds? Are they improving different parts of a nervous system or...?
@ruslan_nazarenko thanks for your support!
1) we’re working on it now! can expect an Android app by end of the year
2) we aren’t compatible with Oculus for now because we focused on making our VR experiences mobile-based so it could be as easy to use and price accessible as possible
3) great question! Each world has a slightly different therapeutic focus and a different environment. For example: Wave World takes place on an evening beach with the Aurora Borealis above you. The voice over and guides focus on pain management in this world. In another world, Flora Clearing, you sit by a running brook and flowers grow in response to your biometric data (as you do better, they grow more). This world focuses on coping with anxiety.
Please feel free to contact us if you have more questions!
@jameslidotcom Thanks James! Yes the Kit is included with every membership type. The Kit includes a mobile Virtual Reality headset and a Realtime Bluetooth HR Sensor, and it's all ready to use out of the box!

Hey been loving Flowly! Two questions:
1) does every session happen in VR?
2) how long does it take to get the kit?
@neuro Thanks for your support Kent!
1) All our sessions can be done in VR or on-the-go (meaning in 360 mode with just your phone). A lot of our members will keep the Kit on their bedside table to do VR first thing in the morning or before bed, and then throughout the day if they need a pick-me-up or to manage a flare-up, they might pop into 360 mode. We also have a really popular 3 min Tap Breathing exercise in our “Resources” tab you should check out!
2) Kits take 3-5 business days to arrive at your U.S. address.
Really amazed by this team and approach to stress. How does this compare to Core and other devices that track meditation? And what other features are most requested by the community that we can look forward to?
@caryylin thanks for your support! I would say the primary difference is the Virtual Reality component. In our studies and past research, we’ve seen how effective VR can be in helping learn biofeedback faster and with more focus because of the concentrated, high- stimulus environment. A lot of our members request longer sessions (rn our sessions are 10–15 min. long) so we are working on adding variable session lengths!
