Hi PH community! 👋 I'm Paulinus, founder of Raghim AI. Excited (and a bit nervous!) to share what we've been building. What inspired this? A few years ago, I was working on AI projects for enterprise clients in Cameroon and across the CEMAC region. Time and again, I heard the same frustration from banks, hospitals, and government agencies: "We need AI chatbots for customer support, but we can't use cloud-based solutions. Our data can't leave our infrastructure. Regulatory compliance won't allow it." They were stuck between two bad options: poor customer experience without AI, or compliance violations with cloud AI. The problem we're solving: Regulated industries face a critical dilemma. They need AI-powered chatbots to remain competitive, answering customer questions 24/7, handling document queries, enabling natural language database access. But GDPR, HIPAA, banking regulations, and data sovereignty requirements block them from using cloud-based AI services. Traditional solutions force organizations to choose: functionality or compliance. We built Raghim so they don't have to choose. How it evolved: We started with a simple question: "What if AI chatbots could run entirely on your infrastructure?" No cloud APIs. No third-party data processing. Everything, document processing, database querying, AI inference, happens locally on existing servers in a plug and play manner. The first version was basic. But as we talked to more organizations, we realized they needed more: - Bilingual support (French/English) for African markets - Document Q&A capabilities (RAG) - Natural language database querying - One-line widget deployment - Live chat switch - Both self-hosted AND managed options - Third-party app integrations for instance, notifications and email automation We rebuilt the architecture multiple times. Each iteration came from real feedback from banks, healthcare organizations, and government agencies telling us what they actually needed. What makes Raghim different: Most AI chatbot platforms assume you're okay sending customer data to cloud APIs. Raghim assumes the opposite your data never leaves your infrastructure. We built for organizations that can't compromise on data sovereignty. The journey: Building from Cameroon has been both a challenge and an advantage. We understand infrastructure constraints, bilingual requirements, and the need for solutions that work offline. We've had to be creative with resource optimization and build for environments that many cloud-first solutions ignore. What's next: We're just getting started. We're working with early customers in financial institutions, learning from their feedback, and continuously improving. Every conversation teaches us something new about what regulated industries actually need. I'd love to hear from you: - Are you in a regulated industry facing similar challenges? - What would make or break an AI chatbot solution for your organization? - What questions do you have about self-hosted AI? Ask me anything in the comments! I'll be here all day responding to every question and comment. Thanks for checking out Raghim. Your support means the world to us! 🙏
