This is almost perfect for me but not quite... I love that tasks can be aggregated into a dedicated app. But my daily workflow is to use a daily note throughout the day and link to other areas from there. The other areas would be suited to a notebook each but links don't work across notebooks. Currently I would need either multiple daily notes which would be confusing or everything in one notebook.

I do like it. Meets all my needs. Did not find a way to get my data from Evernote or Onenote transferred. Pitty. Using Zenkit todo and Zenkit Base too.

- I have recently started to evaluate Hypernotes and the related Zenkit product Suite for use in our psychotherapy practice. I started out as a Notion user and then I tried Roam Research. I found Notion a bit too complicated for our users, and Roam Research has been great for me personally, but I think that my users will lose their to dos in a sea of notes even though there is a dedicated page for all of them in Roam, assuming the user marks them as such and goes back to look at the todo page. - As with Roam Research, referencing is the magic key to using Hypernotes. References allow you to connect your pages organically. In fact, right now, I'm wishing I could simply reference the page in the user documentation which explains this in detail. But, if you are at all intrigued about how to connect your notes, simply download the software for free and explore the documentation notebook that is included. You will never go back to regular notes again. - A more structured approach to handling tasks and collaboration is where HyperNotes really sets itself apart. - Tasks: Even though the app is a standalone app, tasks are part of the same database as the other apps, and as such, no syncing is needed for changes and completion status updates between them all. There are even inline tasks, which can be created by simply typing "/task" to add the task without having to switch apps/contexts. - Collaboration: "Comments" are one of the ways you can collaborate on pages with other team members. For a more detailed look, check out the free desktop app and the included documentation. - Another thing that Hypernotes has going for it is the existence of a mobile app, which Roam does not yet have. In fact, the entire Zenkit Suite has desktop and mobile apps. This makes such a difference. - Some of the things I wish Hypernotes had: - The ability to create Daily Notes with future dates. If you are moving from a bullet journal, you will very quickly want to create a "Future Log," which is even more powerful in the context of using dates as references. If Hypernotes has this ability already, I have not been able to make it work. This functionality is also useful as a memory jogger. Say you're expecting that package on Friday. When you have the thought, you can immediately capture it and reference the date. There is a toggle for "showing notes in the future," but it does not seem to be working at the moment. - A date picker. This one goes hand in hand with the ability to create future dated daily notes. - Now, if the Zenkit Suite only had an email client like Twobird, which works with Gmail and Outlook mail, and has the ability to add tasks from the email inbox, and notes that could be integrated with Hypernotes. And why stop there? The email inbox could also be integrated with Zenchat a la Spike. - By the way, I used Hypernotes to compose this entire review.

Ok, I finally figured out the future dates thing, by accident. Instead of creating future dated pages from the Daily Notes screen, one has to create them from *inside* a Daily Note, which I find counterintuitive, but it works. I would rather see the ability to type out a date like this [[April23,2021]] so I don't have to stop typing to generate a note that needs to be cross-referenced to a date in the future, and also an inline date picker like in Roam. Even so, this software is shaping up to be a real winner because of the integration with the rest of the Zenkit Suite of apps and the ability to track to dos and collaborate via comments. We also get integrations to other software via Zapier or the Zenkit API. I have already connected the suite to one of my favorite apps: Pomodone and so far, so good.

I just started using Hypernotes and it's fantastic! I am still working my way around linking blocks vs pages, but so far it's going great. Ask me in a few months to see how much I've written with it! :D
