The website says "Never be late for another meeting because you were on E.", and I thought "Whoa, is this app targeted at people who take too much ecstasy?"
Yoshiki
Love the name.

@yoshikischmitz Thanks! :)

Definitely been seeing many of these pop up. Is Yoshi only available in specific markets right now?
Noah Kim
@anandp29 Yes, I just tried to sign up in Los Angeles of all places (Car Capital of America) smack dab in the middle of West LA, and it said the service wasn't available. If there was only 1 city in the country this should be rolled out to, whether for testing or forever, I would think it would be LA.
David Gobaud
@anandp29 Yes we are available in the Bay Area, Nashville, and Atlanta right now but expanding quickly! Please signup and share with friends - we expand based on where the most demand is.

@wuss @anandp29 I'd argue it's more valuable to launch in a smaller market and work out the kinks before launching in what will be the biggest market.
Noah Kim
@sam_alter @anandp29 logical reason, but I want my delivery gas now! ;P

@wuss @anandp29 try purpleapp.com in LA

There are A LOT of companies tackling this space (I know of at least 4-5 others, including: https://www.producthunt.com/tech... ). It will be interesting to see how this market pans out vs the on-demand parking market, which also had a lot of companies competing in it, but has kind of fizzled out a bit, with some of the market leaders pivoting towards a b2b focus

I actually thought of doing the same thing here in Tel Aviv. The safety regulations about selling and filling fuel were prohibitive Good luck, looks like a great service!
David Gobaud
@mmariansky Thanks! Safety is our top priority. Our trucks and all of our components have been inspected and approved by several industry experts and authorities. We are also compliant with all laws and regulations.

Interesting and well thought product. Like it.

We use Yoshi every Tuesday at YC dinner. It's definitely a kind of "Why didn't anyone do it before?" thing. Yes, it's not that tough thing to get to a gas station. But believe me, it's so cool when you're car filled-up, at a better rate while you have a meeting. Just give it a try

Hey Makers ! Awesome product, beautifully designed. Two questions though how are you different from the other gas providers ? (wefuel, filld, urgent.ly,...) What's you geographical coverage so far?
Shlok Vaidya
@madiocci Yeah. Here's the startup I'm looking for: gives me geographical coverage data across all these services. Alerts for when they're actually in my area. Kicker: A chrome plugin that blocks them if they are not in my area.

Javi Noble's idea 😛 Mexican people would understand

i used to use Yoshi quite a bit...the app doesn't look anything like the screenshot example. maybe that's coming soon. Also, they use to be a SMS service, and to be honest, that seemed to work better than the app. I'm on the road quite a bit and i kept forgetting to cancel in the app...was much easier to just text and cancel.
David Gobaud
@bdesseyn Sorry to hear that! We have a major redesign of the app in the works and are improving it everyday. You can still cancel by text anytime. A lot of people wanted to be able to reschedule etc via an app so we created it but texting still works!
