An AI that offers less- feature or bug?
by•
Every AI right now is being built to give you more- more output, more answers, more done. Wyser is the first thing we've built to deliberately give you less: it's trained not to offer advice.
Turns out the hardest thing to engineer in 2026 isn't intelligence. It's restraint, an AI that resists the urge to fix you and just helps you see yourself instead.
Honest question for the makers here: is "an AI that withholds the answer" a feature, or a bug?

Feature, easily. I vented at ChatGPT last week and got a tidy 6-step action plan when all I wanted was to work out why I was annoyed. Closed the tab more wound up than I started. An AI that just lets you think out loud without lunging to fix it is the thing I didn't know I wanted.
I think it's a feature, provided the restraint is intentional and consistent. Reflection often creates better long-term insights than instant advice. In a space where every AI tries to optimize us, building one that prioritizes understanding over solutions is a refreshing direction. Curious to see how users respond over time.
