Hey Product Hunt! 👋

I built `vue-pdf-export` after repeatedly creating custom PDF components across different Vue projects.

I wanted one reusable Vue 3 + TypeScript solution for the things I kept needing: pagination, preview, headers and footers, watermarks, security, metadata, compression, and progress handling.

Since then, the package has grown quite a bit. It now includes:

  • Canvas and selectable/searchable text rendering

  • page-by-page Canvas generation for larger documents

  • cancellation for long-running exports

  • current-page / total-page progress

  • repeated-image optimization

  • optimized reusable footer rendering

  • clickable links

  • improved cleanup and browser responsiveness

  • large-document, browser, stress, and regression testing

I’ve tested the current implementation with 50-page and 100-page Canvas documents, while keeping the existing Vue-oriented API and Canvas behavior familiar.

The package is available on npm, and there’s also a live playground where you can try the features without installing anything.

I’d really appreciate feedback from Vue developers - especially around real-world PDF use cases, complex layouts, large documents, or features you’d like to see next.

Thanks for checking it out!
